I tried to use shirt buttons but the final result even after painting is meh.

I also thought about slicing some kind of cylinder with an outer texture...

Any ideas?

I used plastic tube for the outer rim of the wheel and filled with greenstuff to make the hub/spoke. I then cut thin strips of plastic textured card (diamond tread) and wrapped that around the wheels.

I've been trying to find easy way of making ork bikers and tanks for years. I've hunted for toys that had wheels the right size (micro-machines and others) with no success.

Darn, I was planning to cut up the rear wheels off the plastic ork battlewagons, but found that I only had two spare! And I need six wheel :(

Getting the hang with this. All I'm adding into the cut out tube is greenstuff. Once I have the rod in place, I just poke some holes using a pin around the edge and I even got a nice hub cap.
