Cheers guys. Picking an army that can get by with a messy paint job all those years ago was a good move!

So at some stage during the Great Crusade a conversation like this must have happened:
Mortarion wrote:
Hey Dad, vindicators are cool and all, but I really wish we had something BIGGER

The Beneficent Emperor of Mankind wrote:
Ooh, good idea Morty. Oi, Fabricator General. Make us bigger vindicators!

And so the Fabricator General trotted off, tinkered on Mars for a while, and the Typhon was born.
And there was much rejoicing!

Awesome, and thanks for the tutorial. Been wondering how to get a decent looking death guard white for a ling time now.

I was probably too heavy handed with my white highlight on this model. I got a bit carried away, and in my haste to paint it I neglected to prep it as well as I should have. Looks good on the table, but in these ultra zoomed images it looks a little chunky. :(

This will double as a Plague Reaper in my 40k games. The turret is held on with a magnet so I might convert up a more nurgly one for that. Something that looks shorter ranged and capable of firing a 3bp disrupt weapon. Actually that sounds like the Typhons. Hmm... If only they had more secondary weapons then they would look the part.

But this will do for now. That main gun looks longer ranged than 30cm though! Better get a turret converted. :)

Yeah, I know that feeling. I often find that it's not until the later stages of painting that it starts to come together and look anything but awful.

Great models.

Thanks Axel!

Next up are some infantry. In a legion renowned on the reputation of its infantry it's long overdue!
The terminators are a mix of the old plastic and white metal ones. I picked them up quite a while ago on eBay, and wasn't sure if I should paint them all XIV'th legion, or keep 4 bases for my space marine army. In the end I painted them all Death Guard. Two formations didn't seem out of character.
Image
These guys were painted over a year ago I think. I didn't bother posting them until I had some models to go with them.
This formation contains a champion, whose job is to take out important things.
Image
I gave him a blue sword for the Charnabal Sabre he carries. The back banner is a bit rough, and really needs a touch up. It's a common theme in my armies :D

The next unit is pretty much the same. I didn't differentiate so I can mix and match (as Mortarion decreed ;)).
Image
These guys contain my supreme commander/sorcerer.
Image
He has the banner bearer to help him stand out. I kept it subtle though(well as subtle as a 4m high banner can be!), as is the death guard way.
The scythe is waaaaay too big. I think it is from a 28mm scale bayonet. Could be half the size and still look too big. I think I might trim it with nail clippers and touch up the blue. Shouldn't be too hard.

I don't know if I'll always run the SC in a terminator formation. I am leaning towards the idea of the SC in the tactical formation/plague marines rather than terminators. I will play some games and see what I prefer, but I just LIKE the idea of the SC in with the terminators. At the spear tip so to speak.

Anyway that's it for now. I'm hoping to get a game in with these guys on Monday. I'll try ant remember to take some photos if I do.
