Anyone used the GW Khorne Red spray paint and can compare with the old Blood Red spray paint?

Anyone recommend an alternative to GW?

Army Painter sprays are great. Dragon Red is a bit too dark for a Blood Red substitute IMO. I think Pure Red is closer.

I am not shore if this answers your question, but I have REALLY gut good experience by using "colorful aerosol paint" from the hardware store. I my case "Buntlack / Seidenmatt" from the OBI company ... I am not sure if this is just available in Germany. Point is, it DOESENT kill details and is a REALLY, REALLY cheap alternative (by about half the price). I am using it just for priming my models black or white, but I am sure, that there will also some nice red shades.

I have to disagree, sorry.
I have used Army Painter Yellow Spray Can and Dunkelgelb Spray Can and was very disappointed with them. Hard to work with them, difficult flow control, prone to jamming and it reacted with the resin my Dropzone COmmander stuff was made of. This was one-two years ago, when DZC came out, though.
Would always go the "airbrush route" nowadays, if you only want to spray them one colour, a basic one from the craft store including air compressor would do just fine, I think.

I did get my air compressor out, but air gun is bottle loading so min paint needed and made the mix too watery. Need a top loading gun.

Thanks for tips. Will look into it, but uk based.

I've had this problem with army painter as well, i sent them an email about it and they posted me a bag of spare spray caps for free. Doesn't stop the jamming in the first place of course, but they're prepared to do something about it/help when it happens.

Regarding army painter I too have been some what not that impressed with it.

A while ago I tried some of the blood red sort of colour on some 6mm BA, these where
metal 6mm primed white the way I always do my minis, and sprayed, good coverage
and kept detail in the minis, However they damage, chip to easily :{[] ?

Now I just keep to primer and hand paint gw paint or valleo or however you spell it ;D

Will not use it again, may be better on plastics ?

I agree, AP not great on metal minis for chipping, unless there's a prime coat under it first. AP is much better for plastics. That being said I've found different colours have different results.... Now I airbrush all basecoats including black and white.

My main problem with armypainter spray undercoats is when parts of the coat, apparently at random, become water-repellent, refusing to have anything to do with any paint I might want to place on top.
I'm not sure what causes this, but it's happened with both white and black undercoats.

I haven't experienced the "water repellant" effect on freshly sprayed minis. However the effect has happened to me on older paint jobs - and not only with Army Painter. I am not really sure what causes it.
I was less than happy with Army PAinters black undercoat as it didn't stick very well and had a slightly glossier finish than GWs chaos black spray. I'd use a light coat of GE spray before applying Army Painters sprays.

Still not decided so hand base painted my model and finger tips.
