That's a really solid start, is that a Hunter in the formation? It's not a forumware/scratchbuild that I recognise. |

really cool ![]() I'd say that they'd look even cooler if you'd add another tone of green because it looks as if it only has 2, doesn't it? Anyway, it looks nice as it is! ![]() |

Thank you for all your kind complements. The highlights look so stark because of the flash when i took the pictures. Working on a thunderhawk right now. Will post pictures when i am done. Also need to learn to take better pictures. |

Maybe the flash makes it looks so diferent that would seem to need a transition colour, but I imagine that in real life it is not the case xDD Roget ![]() |

Thought I'd share some pics of our campaign game yesterday between Sploh and our resident Necron Lord! ![]() The armies line up. It's a custom themed scenario with both sides attempting to capture a certain Connor, J. from a zombie-strewn wasteland! Think the future scenes from a certain Austrian bodybuilders' movies... ![]() Both armies are investigating packs of zombies to recover Mr Connor. To do this, they either win an engagement against them, or shell them from afar and move within 5cm with another formation. Both entitle the player to roll to see if they discover Connor. Here Sploh opens the festivities in style with an orbital bombardment, clearing all of one pack of zombies and damaging another. ![]() Necrons get lucky on their second activation and pick up Connor with a roll of a six! They pull back to the safety of a table corner (they aren't allowed to teleport off the table with Connor). ![]() With a fzaaap and a whiff of ozone, terminators materialise around the pylons and wipe them out in one turn! ![]() Disaster strikes twice as the mighty Tomb Sphinx falls prey to volley after volley of lascannon fire and breaks! The Necrons fall back around their prize in the corner, while the Marines troops pour in to pile on the pressure. ![]() A bold Necron attack in the Marine backfield from teleporting monoliths and warrior reserves leaves the attacking Marines in disarray. The Marine supreme commander is lost, while his command is reduced to a broken land raider and rhino! ![]() The aftermath. Not a single Necron unit is lost. Ouch! More to come! |

![]() Incensed by the loss of their Supreme Commander, Salamanders vindicators viciously shell the Necron flanking force. When the smoke clears, the Necron infantry phalanx is in full flight. ![]() Tomb Spyders and scarabs burst out through the tomb complex near the destroyed pylons. They engage the terminators... ![]() ... and are sent packing! Their macro weapon attacks whiff uselessly while the terminators land every one of theirs. The terminators must really have liked their supreme commander, because they are TICKED OFF. ![]() A Whirlwind squadron sustains and piles up the templates on the Necron flanking force. The monoliths are broken and fall back in disarray. The Marine backfield is green once more! ![]() After spending all of turn two cowering after failing to rally, the Tomb Sphynx surges forward, macro weapons blazing. Three of four vindicators are vaporised in an instant! The Salamanders' They Shall Not Pass is looking more and more unlikely... ![]() By now, both armies are severely battered, with just a handful of viable formations left on each side. The Necrons are forced to commit the phalanx holding Connor hostage - a gamble that could cost them the game. ![]() It all comes to this: One tactical company's heroic attempt to defeat the combined mass of the remaining infantry. The odds are stacked against them, but they go in bolters blazing anyway... But it is not to be. Outgunned and dispirited, the Marines roll poorly. The Necrons' monoliths absorb the worst of their fire, while their infantry takes a toll on the Marines who break, deciding the game. Result: 2-0 (The Necrons hold Connor, who alone is worth 2 VPs. It's enough to win them the day!) |
