So 15+ years since I last picked up a paintbrush I've started working on a squat army and an eldar army. The squat colour scheme for all the vehicles is a classic squat culture club combo (red, gold, and green). I'm going for a constructivist feel which should suit the large geometric expanses of the war engines. The eldar are going for a mondrian/harlequin scheme (which means tips for painting white are gratefully received). Unlike a lot of the other folk on this site my painting is pretty much beginner/layman stuff but thought some of the newer players, and less confident painters might like to see someone else struggling. I'm pretty slow at the moment so updates will be irregular. Would love to hear what folk think plus any hints and tips for improvement, particularly the use of washes. For 2016 the goals are to finish the squats and eldar, then start on a new thousand sons army. The squats are nearly there with just an infantry company outstanding at this stage (though, of course, there's a few extra toys I'd like to get done). Eldar are 2 units of grav tanks, a vampire, guardian Co, and night spinners away. |
