The Fireturkeys are a better match for Fire Raptors than Storm Ravens. *snip – apoc* would be a better option.

I think this is probably settled: as has been mentioned the models in the OP were made years ago by a fan of epic. As for the process of manufacture, browse the miniature creation forum and maybe some of the 6mm manufacturer specific threads (onslaught, TMG, etc) to see what people are doing for fancy (non IP infringing) 6mm creations these days :)
