Hello all! A few years ago I was having a bad time of things and I got into wargaming to get out and have fun. Epic was the first thing I ever played and even though I was a billy no mates growing up and never really played many proper games of things - I always had a love of Warhammer/40k fluff. This year I'm paring down some things. I've sold my Warhammer fantasy and some 20mm WWII, as well as some 40k stuff. I'm trying to be realistic as to what I'll actually get around to painting and playing with, as my rate of building / painting is glacially slow, and my rate of buying stuff is still constant. My no.1 interest is Warmaster, with SAGA my kickabout skirmish game. However, I have been desperate to learn and play Epic: Armageddon for a while now. A few years ago I started the slow process of stripping down / repairing some Eldar bits I had left over. I also bought some of the last GW space marine sculpts before they disappeared. I didn't know the rules and the club had other games that were popular so after an initial burst of effort, these are the main results: Attachment: Attachment: A lot of effort but only 1 actually finished rhino! There's more photos but they're all of bare metal, resin and plastic being assembled and based! So time went on and Warhammer and 40k and SAGA and Blitzkrieg Commander and Infinity and all sorts of games were played instead. Now, I'm committed to Warmaster, SAGA, Infinity and EPIC at last. Don't know where to go now - what to concentrate on, but I thought making a topic placeholder might be a good thing to create and keep revisiting. =) |

Nicely detailed Rhino ![]() Do you have people locally who can teach you to play? Check out the Epic-UK tournaments as well, they're friendly and welcoming of new players. |

Thanks, all! I realised I hadn't even taken an up to date pic of the WIP so here's a couple showing the Space Wolves... I never ever painted an army in my life - never even finished a unit. So all the stumbling steps over the past few years have been my first attempts. I've liked the results but I've barely finished anything! These are from 2011 or so... Attachment: Attachment: Attachment: I'm thinking of getting some proxies for different armies - but I do want to finish these off. |

You're not too far off with the swolves stormwind! Get some infantry painted up and you've got a finished and fully painted 2k force there! Then its just a few more bits and bobs to hit the magic 3k! Maybe set up a production line? Its worked wonders for me, start with the basecoat and do everything, then move on to colour blocking, then metallics etc. I've had the luxury of ~90 mins to myself every evening since the baby was born and I'm on the finishing straight of 8 formations painted in two weeks..... the production line method helps as you can see a big chunk of army changing daily which, for me at least, is a great motivator |

Those bases for the land speeders are beautiful. Keep up the good work! |

Just dug out these old Forge World Objectives, put them on Renedra bases, along with a couple of drop pods. Thing is, I need 6 objectives, I think? So I will have to kitbash one more. Whilst I like the idea of having army specific objectives, here I just want solid, good looking, basic, generic ones for new players to get used to. Attachment:

Three each, so if your opponent has an army and objectives you are sorted. |
