Love the eighties pop-colour.. Really gets an oldschool feeling going. |

'The future's bright - the future's Bilious Green!' Recent models all undercoated and bases done: Plus a reference shot of the paints used so that I have some hope of getting similar colours again, although I did end up adding some dark green to counteract the mix starting off too orange. |

How delightfully grotty! Where are the skull piles from - Pendraken? |

The skull piles are the old Epic Nurgling sculpts. |

To be fair, they're just a bunch of random lumps until painted... On that subject, some painting progress. The Nurglings are mostly done, the Vindicators have had one coat of green and the Spawn have had a couple of shading washes. |

Aww! (blushes) I got sidetracked by another related project that's been gestating for a year or more and finally coalesced last night - a Plagueship! This tatty BFG model has been sitting in my bits box for a couple of years, waiting for me to find a good way to inflict Nurglification on it. If in doubt, add tentacles... I think what really makes it is the 'axe-head' on the prow, from a Chaos Warrior model. EDIT - the first photo shows it all Blutacked together, the second is glued together and ready to spray. |

So I made a thing. The left half isn't finished so you'll have to imagine it's symmetrical. The idea is to use it as a Blight Drone proxy, along the lines of a quadcopter - I've got enough packpacks for a full formation of five of them but the guns and heads would be different. I'm quite pleased with how it came out even though it's still instantly recognisable as a Chaos backpack. Then, in the middle of the night I had a brainwave and made another thing. Although it's clearly a chopped up Nid Ripper, it's also instantly recognisable as being a Blight Drone! Especially if I apply some of the textured paint from the bases. A couple more variations: I think the Quadcopter design will go into storage for potential use as Helltalons down the line, or possibly a second formation of Blight Drones - the problem is that I only have six of the ducted fans and need another four. Does anyone have some spares? I think they're from a Drop Pod. |
