No more painting yet, but some construction work...

Basing the Plaguereapers - as they've got a lot of magnets in already but not enough to adhere through the thickness of a base I decided to add some magnets to the base, lined up with the existing ones.

Image

By holding the tank in place on the top of the base I used some 2mm magnets to help mark the magnet positions and then drill out. Three 2mm magnets were added down the side for Blast markers.

Once the bases are textured and painted, I'll glue the tanks in place.

And another bit of distraction. While doing some clearing up I came across some Raptor Jump Packs that I'd squirrelled away for future conversions. Simply add some heads and tails and instant Helltalons!

There are enough parts to do two with larger heads/tails and three with smaller, which means that the set of five can also do double duty as a second formation of Blight Drones if needed.

I'm undecided on how to base them so will try these two mixed in with the existing Blight Drone models in a game next week, and see which is better. Possibly with some scraps of white metal piled on top of the green 40mm disc base.

;D

In hindsight, the old cover for Michael Swannick's The Iron Dragon's Daughter was an inspiration for the flyers:

Awesome conversions on the flyers ;) Like the conversion on the Tanks also, that one with the pipe going into the barrel turret area looks like the gunge is been fed through the pipe to fuel the vehicle, very cool idea and proper nurgely ;D

After another break...

For the Winter Warmer last month, I needed some Rhinos and a second formation of Plague Zombies. plus one of the rebased Plaguereapers.

First, the part-painted Plaguereaper base, followed by four slightly converted Rhinos and the 'test' Giant Plague Rat/Plague Zombie stand:

And a lot more Giant Plague Rats on the way...

Base-coated Rhinos, which will get a shading wash at some point:

Half the finished Giant Plague Rats:

Continuing with the sideways expansion into LatD, a Demagogue and Mutants formation. I'm now heartily sick of cleaning up itty bitty axes...

Image

And the Cultist formation (25mm Vanguard bases) with Big Mutants (30mm Renedra disc bases). The Cultists are a mix of standard GW Beastmen and Cultists mixed in with Onslaught Cultists.

Image

Three Iron Dragons/Blight Drones/Aircraft now assembled, with the two bigger ones moved on to scenic bases as I think it's going to be more robust for gaming.

Image

Image

And now yet more Defiler-style conversions. These are based on some fan-made Orky walkers and will do double duty as 'normal' Defilers (rather than Death Guard Desecrators or Plague Hulks) and as Chaos Knights for Mrdiealot's new Traitor Titan list. As they're going to get used as DC2 War Engines in that list I decided to bulk them up by lifting them up above ground level on bigger bases and adding stuff on the backs.

Love the tanks on the back of the defiler in the left! I can imagine it filled with some toxic bile or plague.

Ta! It's a small 40k searchlight (I think from a Sentinel) on top of part of a Hunter Killer missile from a Rhino.
