so back in 2011 when I bought the army I came up with a colour scheme and did a few units:
That got shelved till November this year when I pulled it back out and set about painting a full army.
And this is how it looks now:

A brief background. I'm 35, haven't played epic for coming on 20 years and got a hankering to start up an army again thanks to discussions on the 'fools daily' podcast about some of its members getting into epic again. Anyway that rattled around in my head and eventually I pulled out my figs and then realised I had no idea what an army looks like these days as I last played when Titans and wild rider hosts was basically all I needed! This brought me to the epic UK website and their list repository. Some shameful stealing later I had my planned list! I should add I also bought an epic eldar army off a clubmates 3-4 years back on whim as was going cheap so had picked up some bits the. Before shoving it all in a box and forgetting about it. The scheme was not my tastes at all so it all got stripped but meant I had a load of figs that didn't exist when I last played and thankfully a lot of these are in the army now. Preamble done pics to follow. Just to say I'm not churning all this out 'live' I now have a completed army to 4000pts but imagine it will grow a lot larger over time. |

Those colors really work, love the fire prisms! I am not usually a fan of that avatar model but you have manage to make yours pop. Great job and improvement from 2011. |

Thank you for all your kind comments, I've really enjoyed the change in painting 6mm over 28mm. Being able to complete an army in a relatively short time is great for motivation! Close ups of a few units: Avatar, something odd happened on the base (2p) seems to have leached green into the flock.  Heavy weapon guardians, void spinners and wraith ship  Fire prisms  Jetbikes

I really like the contrast in the colour scheme. Great job. I noticed some really great basing on your biggest flyer, will you be bringing that concept on to other big bases? |

But specifically I want to add other aspect formations, I'm slowly creeping towards 8 warp spider units but not quite there yet! I will then be converting up some shining spears and after that moving the list to be flexible for other craftworld so adding a load more bikes for Saim Hain and a bunch of wraith units for Iyanden. Oh and titans, after all this is epic. Plus aside from some of the infantry and jetbikes I've not really touched the stuff from my 20 year old army in building this one, so got to repaint all that too. It's mostly just come out the bath of stripper today. But will generailly be painting up whatever takes my fancy that I own. |
