Latest effort from GW, half an assault ram.

Could make a lander model from this once scale details are removed altered, what do you think?

How many SM in such a flyer? 1/2 squad?

Some scale shots with epic models would show if it was possible, my first impressions would be more of a Titan legion lander for scenarios.

10. Or more.

Remember, all Space Marine vehicles are larger on the inside.

scale wise the canopy might be a problem

IIRC it's transport capacity is the same as a razorback. Although the razorback is far more stylish. It's a pity too since they were close to something rather cool but ended up with the Cad child of the stormtalon and Caestus that a great unclean one sat on top of... or they just really wanted a slightly canine profile from the side.

As far as using the kit itself for epic, I'm sure we can find an alternative that doesn't cost $80 a pop. :)

Hi!

How big is that in relation to an epic miniature?

I can give you a picture with 40K figures alongside but no epic pics yet for comparison.

Cockpit insides could be re-modelled into an open plan bridge section and the canopy would just be a large panoramic viewport.

I could see maybe a few superheavy tanks fitting in the hold at least but it looks a bit small for a titan.

Correction: according to the internet it can transport 16 SMs in 40k, or a smaller number of 6 inside the gun/fighter version (the one on the left in the first picture).

It's on a 90 x 120mm base. Looking at the 360 degree spin-able image on the GW site it looks to be about 22.5cm long.

The height of the transport area is just over 5cm, so too small for a titan carrier, but it could carry large quantities of infantry and vehicles. The Imperium does use large transport flyer / space drop ships e.g. these Imperial Guard eagle landers.

Fairly sure it'd have to be an ork Landa; even the Imperium aren't THAT stupid, and they don't have the power to wish unworkable things to work ..

You could put small windows and/or plastic card to make correct size ... like I did here ... Image But as I have posted before there are other options ... than anything GW ... Here's one of the best selections, IMO - http://www.daemonscape.co.uk/contents/en-uk/d4.html

I agree L4 there are alternatives to GW, infact i have several of those resin shuttles/landers in my collection already. I hate giving my money to GW but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and go for it. Plastic kits are the only reasonable option for big convertable models for when size is what you are looking for.

I feel with some imagination and conversion work this would make an excellent heavy vehicle lander or mass infantry carrier if you are prepaired to pay the price and get out the plastic sheet that is. :)
