Just recently I've been trying to put together the beginnings of a Space Marine army and I'm wondering how to represent the Sniper ability on scouts.

I tried a conversion based on swapping the head of a SM scout onto an Eldar ranger model but the results were pretty dreadful. Before I destroy more OOP models in ill-advised conversions, what have other people done to represent snipers in their Scout detachments?

the zero-model option is to model little cammo blankets and sniper barrels into terrain on the base. so you don't have actual sniper minis on there, just evidence of concealed snipers.

Dark Realm Pax Arcadia scouts wouldn't be a half-way bad option either. Not exact but not too bad.

I put a bit of plasticard rod on the front for a fire suppressor.

I used the regular guy as the base for my scouts. I did a Catachan head swap and throw a Bolt Pistol on there from the oversized stock scouts.
