this is my first test rhino
from a black base painted white then washed in black then a highlight not finished just a test.
i like the idea of the dirty white kitten cheers i'll give that a try this weekend too

Hi guys thinking of starting my white scars but that age old problem of white... was thinking of using a gray base but not sure if white base with a black wash would be better. any tips or advice would be ace cheers |

I used light grey to paint my old white scars years ago with a white highlight applied to the raised areas. The only bit actually painted white was the shoulder pads with red rims. |

cheers moredakka i'm going to do a few test runs with my ideas and any that are posted and see what i feel works best for me but that sounds quite nice i'll have a go at that at the weekend cheers |

There's a nice colour from (I think) reaper? called Vampire Shade - it's basically a dirty, slightly greyish white. I've found that applies easily, covers well and drybrushes/highlights to white pretty darn well. It even flatters a terrible painter like me. I'm sure other manufacturers and colour ranges have something similar. That plus a light ink shade, then highlights and red details, should really make the minis at 6mm pop. |

hi blind thanks for that they are very nice, this is the thing not sure at the minute if i want the nice clean look like yours or if i want the weathered look due to work didnt get time to do any tests will try again this week |
