Thanks!

Next up are some Shining Spears:

I've done a couple of extra stands of these, partly because I had a few spare models and partly because it means that if I use the Biel-Tan list I can take a whole warhost of Shining Spears. Some of the aspects make sense in combination, but I don't think these are among them.

What is slightly odd is the fact that the Shining Spears pack came with two fewer flight stems than models, so both models on the Autarch stand are held up by piano wire instead. Also odd is the fact that I'm pretty sure that the model with the headdress is supposed to be the Exarch, but that means that the blister comes with three regular Aspect Warriors and 17 Exarchs. Consequently I've used the Exarch model for the regular aspects and the guys with normal helmets as characters.

This army is now quite close to being completely finished. I still have the following to paint:
A second Night Spinner troupe.
Warp Spider troupe.
Guardian Warhost mounted in Wave Serpents.
Phoenix Bomber squadron
Vampire Raider.

Once those are all painted, I'll do a group shot of everything I've painted since I started up again, and some shots of the whole army in its entirety. Then I'll start concentrating on my Chaos army for a bit.

I really like the freehand, and the contrast between the blue with white commanders with the white with blue troops.

Thanks, chaps. I'm quite pleased with the fact that no two Shining Spear jetbikes have the same design on the canopy; each one is different.

Hope you don't mind, I used the Shining Spear Exarch on MW. :)

Not at all, although I'm slightly puzzled as to why you horizontally mirrored the image. If there are any other units I have that you need photos of then I'm happy to help.

Latest addition is these Night Spinners:

Not sure how I feel about these. The way I've painted them is the closest I've managed to get to the vehicles I painted back in 2009, but now I'm not so sure that's a good thing. They are a bit messy here and there.

Coming up next: Warp Spiders.

Thanks, chaps.

Well, I finally have all my Aspect Warriors painted. Here at last is a troupe of Warp Spiders with the usual Exarch and Autarch character options:

I'm not overly happy with these; they've come out really messy. For some reason I didn't enjoy painting them much. They're nice models but for some reason I just found them really fiddly and awkward to do, which may be reflected in the poor results I got.

I was going to paint the Guardians next but I think I need a break from infantry after these so it'll probably be some aircraft instead.

I could do with some individual infantry stands (Guardians, DA, SS, WS, SH) if you have them handy. I'm also missing all of the FW Eldar aircraft.

I'll try and get some individual photos of the various troop types next week. The FW aircraft I'll post once I've painted them!

Tired of all that tedious trudging through the Webway or riding around in small, cramped Falcons and Wave Serpents? Why not ride to the battlefield in style? Fly Yweh-Lai Airways:

I painted this yesterday but didn't have time to photograph it before going out for the night. I got back this morning and concluded that the paint job wasn't nearly good enough. An hour or so of retouching and tidying up and I'm just about happy with it.

Great work on these latest additions, the vampire looks sleek and I really like the warp spiders, the clean basing helps them stand out :)

I have a set on my painting table so will probably steal a few ideas when I get round to them!

Thanks. You're welcome to any ideas you care to borrow; plenty are second-hand already! :D

Continuing the 'death from above' theme:

This means that all of my aircraft are now painted. All that remains for this army is one more Guardian Warhost with Wave Serpent transport. I might get those done in the next couple of days but if not there may be a slight delay as I'm going on holiday for a week and then starting a new job when I get back so I won't have that much time for painting for a little while.
