Thanks, chaps.

So two new updates to post today. The first is these three extra Forge Knights.

Combined with the twelve I already had (from when they came in formations of 6), I now have fifteen, making three formations of five each:

Second are these Crusader Robots, as designed by NCO. This does mean that this army is no longer comprised solely of old-school models, but a) getting old crusader robots is a right pain in the bottom and b) these are really nice, so I'm not too bothered.

Which means this army is now finished. Hurrah! Coming up next: whole-army shots.

^ Thanks.

And here it is, my properly-finished-this-time AMTL army:

Plus a couple of close-in shots:

Since these additions to the army bring the total up to a nice round 10,000 points, this seems like the perfect point at which to sign it off as completely finished.

One thing it's notably still lacking is air support. This is intentional as I plan to paint up some Imperial aircraft as a separate project. Then they can be used in this army and also in the Space Marine and Imperial Guard armies that I currently have sitting around waiting to be painted. In fact, the Air Wing may well be my next project, before I finally get on and move onto my Chaos Space Marines.

I believe I promised some Imperial aircraft. So, as usual, here's something else. Instead, I've returned to my Chaos Space Marines and finally here are the Havoc units with characters that I promised way back on page 1 of the thread.
Image
(Click for larger image.)

My Havoc units have black top-knots instead of red to make them easier to differentiate from regular Chaos Marines and I decided to extend that idea to the cloaks on the Sorceror Lord. Each character also has a custom Rhino.

I've also converted and painted a third Obliterator unit to go with the other two:

And here are all three units together. It's been something in the region of eight years since I painted the other two units and I can't remember exactly how I did the pink fleshy bits. Consequently the new model doesn't look exactly the same. I think it's close enough that it doesn't matter too much, though.

Next up might well be those Imperial aircraft; I do have a pair of Thunderbolts half-painted and waiting to be finished off. Otherwise it might well be some Chaos vehicles.

Also, I've moved house recently so I have a much shorter commute, giving me a bit more time free in the evenings. I'm hoping this will mean that I can start getting a bit more painting done.

Thank you.

So I tried painting the Thunderbolts but they went disastrously wrong and look awful. I'm not sure whether to keep trying to fix them or just give up, strip them and start again. Either way, they've left me demoralised and disinclined to do any painting at all.

So for now I've decided to leave them and do some other things instead, starting with these two Chaos Vindicators.

I don't fully understand why GW decided to replace this model with the awful Mk.2 version. Sure, this one has its flaws, as do a lot of models of its age. But it's vastly better than the Mk.2, which is just terrible.

The quality of the camera on my new phone once again means that my miniature photos are clearer and, consequently, more unforgiving than before.

I'll hopefully have a company of Chaos Predators finished soon, but then again, who knows? Maybe I'll go back to those Thunderbolts instead.
