Post subject: | Tau Painting Schemes |
Hi all, First post so be nice ![]() I've been playing Epic for a few years now and I'm going to start a new Tau army. As the title says I'm looking for a colour scheme to use. I like the traditional 'orange' colour but it seems a little boring! Are there any examples out there of more 'exotic' Tau painting schemes? I really fancy painting something a bit different! Thanks in advance TLW |

The tau of war blog is quite good for some inspiration: http://tauofwar.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/ ... hemes.html and there's some good stuff on: http://www.advancedtautactica.com as well... |

If you veer towards the Vior'la Tau, it justifies using some more Red on the models which I think can be done quite nicely. I found two examples from 40k, one is black and red and the other white and red. ![]() ![]() |

To be honest I know very little about the Tau (Background etc) but they are one of the armies that my group don't have and I've always liked the look of them! I do like the red colour but don't think I would use that as it would clash with my Orks who mainly red! I quite like the green ones on here: http://www.advancedtautactica.com/viewt ... f=6&t=6290 |

Largo's white and blue are nice: http://zinngebirge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/ ... malen.html Coincidentally I was also planning a white and red scheme, but I chickened out in the end. I can't paint, and even people who can paint can find white difficult. Or so I hear. Still, am kicking myself a bit now, wish I'd gone for it. |

Hi! The red with white looks very nice! While tactical colors maybe more "realistic", I find that at this scale they look drab and dull. I much prefer the "loud" colors. ![]() Primarch |

I'm in love with them all! Yes bright colours are not 'tactical' but they look so much nicer! Sims - Love your stuff and was looking through it all earlier! You can expect many PM's from me asking you a million different questions! |
