Awesome, nice crisp paint job! I really like the freehand chalice on the captains standard. Your basing is very solid as well. |

Great work! The basing really sets the rest of the models off and gives a great contrast ![]() ![]() |

Very, very nice. Love seeing a full company of Terminators. How did you paint that red? |

Quote: Very, very nice. Love seeing a full company of Terminators. How did you paint that red? Thanks mate....I did the red with an undercoat/base of RAL Partha Terracotta (not available anymore but I'd imagine any terracotta would work), then a heavy sepia ink wash (I used "Art Spectrum" pigmented ink I got at an art shop), then block in with the terracotta again, then highlight with GW Mephiston red. For the Land Raiders I finished with a very light drybrush of Blood Angel orange....in the photo the land raider on the left looks overly orange compared to the others, but in the flesh they all look the same....one of those weird things that happens with photos I guess? |

Quote: Also like the use of a lesser represented chapter ![]() Yeah I've been fascinated by the Blood Drinkers ever since I read Ian Watson's classic "Space Marine" back in the early 90's, they only got a page or two in that book but something about them just got me interested, maybe their mysteriousness? Plus I reckon the "Blood Drinkers" is a really cool name for a SM chapter ![]() ![]() In case anyone's interested here's some 28mm Blood Drinkers I did a few years ago using some old school "Beakies" I had laying around.... http://ozwargaming.com/viewtopic.php?t=310 |
