I've got a few of the old style Squiggoths (see pics below). As it is cost prohibitive to buy an Orkeosaurus (and let's face it, I'd probably want about 6 of 'em) I was wondering if the newer style Squiggoths may make a decent proxy? ie these guys: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warhammer-Epi ... 43c339854f I suppose what I'm really asking is if the new-style ones are significantly bigger than the older ones? Can anyone help? Cheers!

There is quite a size difference between the newer Squiggoths and the Orkeosaurus, so I'd say no. Your best bet is to get some toy dinosaurs and convert them. |

Confused! If there is quite a size difference, wouldn't that mean yes? EDIT: I'm being thick... I understand! Cheers TT! |

I base the newer Squiggoths on 40x20mm bases, whilst my Orkeosaurus are based on titan bases |

Hmm, I've had a nosey around the net. Microworld does seem to be the best bet here (which I thought would be the case). That said, what's the feeling of the community about these choices for an Orkeosaurus? 1) Go with something with the general anatomy of an Orkeosaurus, ie a Stegasaurus: http://www.microworldgames.com/collecti ... lt-cluster 2) Put 2 fingers up to the fluff (which I could give 2 bowel movements about in the first place) and use a Tyranosaur in place of an Orkeosaur: http://www.microworldgames.com/collecti ... heavy-unit. 3) Go mega-ambitions, buy and bastardize both of these by sticking the Tyranosaur's head on to the Stegasaurus? I have basically zero experience of conversions so this could be a very dumb idea. I also thought about the Triceratops but thought it maybe looked too small for an Orkeosaur... http://www.microworldgames.com/collecti ... ht-cluster Advice from anyone in the know would be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance! |

Thanks for this. I was quite taken by Yak52's Guild Mounted Bounty Hunters which I thought would be good for Eldar Exodites. Oh dear, in my search for an Orkeosaurus I seem to be getting excited at the prospect of investing in an Exodite army at some point! My wife will not be impressed! |

Thanks Elsmore, I'm thinking that if I chop that weapon off, it would look pretty good... |

Something you might want to look at is a toy rhinoceros. I have one I purchased years ago to make a 40K scale squiggoth - it wouldn't take much converting to make a decent Epic gargantuan squiggoth / Orkeosaurus . Add a howdah and a couple of tusks and you'd be good! For size, you'd be looking at a model that fits on a titan base (60mm I think?) |
