Hey all, I am about to start working on painting my epic horde after a few months of collecting the various bits and bobs I needed. The only thing that has me stymied is basing. I am curious about what everyone here uses for circular bases. I do have a pair of vehicles (won on EvilBay) that are mounted on a flat red disk that is 1 ¼” wide that is absolutely perfect, but have not been able to track down where the disks come from. Any help on a cheap basing solution would be appreciated. |

I use washers when I use round bases. Various sizes depending on the size of the minis. For infantry, I cut out some thin cork and paper hole punch some circles out so the infantry fit snug, like actual epic bases; then affix it to the washers. |

Troublemaker Games has 25mm round plastic bases. Washers and game chips (which is what the vehicle bases sound like) are also common, as are MDF bases. |

I'm not familiar with the sizes of those your side of the pond but small denomination coins work well as bases too. Personally I buy and recommend Fenris Games laser cut ply bases, they have an extremely wide selection of sizes and shapes and can custom make others too. |

Troublemaker games bases are perfect, even if we do say so ourselves... http://www.troublemakergames.co.uk/webstore_DiD_PB.htm |

I use nickels! sturdy and as cheap as it gets. then I use a textured medium to build up the base around the figures - it also gives it a nice earthy texture: http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Valle ... Comparison |

I also go with Fenris. Lots of different size options and they will custom cut anything for you if you ask them. Matt |

I used Renadra 25mm rounds for my eldar - mainly because i was varying the amounts of infantry on the bases. They are very thin - 1.5mm ish - which i then drilled with a 6mm bit to give recesses for the figures in random patterns. GW textured paint to finish. It worked for me and not too fiddley. Though i would say there are better options on the market nowadays - particularly if going 5 to a base. I've used coins with putty round the tabs, but found it extremely fiddley with infantry. |

If going 5 to a base, TMG bases would definitely suit. I think we're cheaper than the other options, and already have the holes in the bases for infantry to go on. :-) |
