I'm a slow, easily distracted, painter and it's been more than a couple of years since I painted anything at all, but I've been working on a small number of Hivefleet Leviathan Tyranids recently.

They're still work in progress - I want to lighten and pinken up the skin a bit more (I'm going for a different tone to the standard off-white), finish the red on the Carnifex's claws and do the bases. I'm pleased with how they're coming on though and I thought I'd start a painting thread and share a photo now my camera is working again:

Fantastic! Love the the properly crowded bases. With that quality, I understand that it takes time to paint stuff. However,armed with that knowledge, I am also slightly puzzled as to your choosing THE iconic horde army. It will be breathtaking once finished, though.

Those look great Glyn. Crowded bases look good, as Nitpick said, especially as nids armies often seem to have fewer models per base due the scarcity/cost.

Looking good! The crowded bases look great - I might have to steal that idea... Where did you get the 7 hole bases? Are they custom made or was it more fiddly than that?
