Post subject:  Khorne Beserkers & Slaanesh Noise Marines
I was wondering what people use a proxies for Khorne Beserkers; I was thinking of using Beastmen.

Also, was going to use Chaos Squats for Noise Marines. Not so happy about this because they are obviously smaller than standard Marines but the gun & pose is similar to the Noise Marines.

Thoughts?

Sounds like you need some of the newer plastic chaos sprues sir, put a wants up in the trade section.

Yep, I've only got the old sprues but I don't have anything to offer people in exchange as everything is accounted for. I'm guessing these would be pretty pricey?

Chaos infantry sprues are actually among the few epic miniatues still available from GW.

Thanks for the tip off, appreciate it!
But as someone who bought the original Chaos box set for a tenner, 30 quid was a bit of a shocker (buying one lot at £15 is useless)! On the other hand, I've got a load of the old-style demons (Flesh Hounds, Bloodletters, etc), so should be able to reduce my losses by putting those that I don't need on ebay.

All you want are the berserkers and noise marines, you just sell the rest of the sprue on ebay. Wait until they go OOP to sell on and you might even make a small profit (although berserkers are popular, so will hit the value a bit).

Ah, good shout Mr Gonzo! These look like good proxies (although it is very hard to make out much with that group pic) and with it being 6 stands of each means I have a unit of each specialist squad for each army. I just realised that I would have needed to buy 3 sprues worth from GW which would be £45!

Has anyone bought from GDB yet? Just want to check if people think the quality is ok...

Well, the quality is not really depending on him as it will go through Shapeways and their printing is top notch!
Really just a matter of design... you either like his stuff or not ;)

That being said, his preset material option of 'White Strong & Flexible' comes out quite grainy.
Would suggest contacting him about a 'WSF polished' option for just a little more.

A clubmate did post a comparison picture somewhere in the GDB thread which i can't find atm. ^_^

Its hit or miss with him. The infantry is really lacking much of any detail (his ships are great though). To get anything that doesn't look like sandstone you'd need to go at least Frosted Detail and at that price you'd probably be better off just buying three boxes from GW and recouping your costs on eBay. Honestly daemon are always wanted by someone.

After the two fingers those massive wallopers* gave us Epic players, I'm loathe to give them any of my hard-earned cash. I suppose if needs must...

Here in the US, it appears that the Chaos sprues are in fact OOP on the GW website.

I ordered mine up about 7 or 8 weeks ago, and they just shipped yesterday. So, fair warning, if they are still available where you are, they may take quite some time to arrive.
