Okay, so I decided not to sell my old 'nids but to paint them instead. The basic question left is: How should I paint them. I've had two colour schemes in mind and tried them both, but I still can't really decide. Have a look at them: ![]() ![]() Actually I prefer the snowy one, but the problem isn't just the colour itself: I tend to like stuff like dark blues, blacks and whites - and that's why I've got quite some Black Templars done for 40K and Epic (which are black and white) and some Tau for 40K (which are black and blue). The last thing I want in my shelf now is an army that looks like merely a mixture of what's already there, so that's a big reason for selecting the desert one. Any thoughts? |

I too like the "snowy" one, but I'd highly recommend going with the desert scheme if your other armies are looking "blue". Having such a strong contrast will look great on the battlefield or the display case! |

I prefer the "desert" colors. ?I think reds and browns (or reds and black) work better for 'Nids. |

I like both of the colour schemes, but if you've already got loads of blue armies, I guees it makes sense to go fo the desert one for a change! ![]() ![]() |

Well, since nobody said something along the lines of "geez, that yellow scheme sucks so bad !!!111oneone" I'll probably just use the desert scheme - simply for the sake of not having 3 armies that don't use more than 3 colours ![]() I'll post some pics as I progress... Thanks for all the feedback ![]() Do you have enough Nids to do both? Both are great |

I find the blue/snow combo visually appealing but I would still go with the desert for several reasons - It's also a nice color pallette even if not as dramatic. It looks more "natural" for Nids. And although I'm not at all a stickler for tactical colors like, say, L4, I do appreciate it when it works and that works. |

I, too, prefer the snowy look, but since you already have a couple of armies painted similarly, I would definitely go with the desert scheme. |

The Blue/White scheme, while good, is apparently too similar to your current armies, so is out. However the desert scheme doesn't really appeal to me, it's too highly pigmented and contrasted for my taste. I prefer a slightly more naturalistic aproach with Tyranids... whatever that means. ![]() |
