Because I'm stupid, a few years ago I decided to start an army painting project using a long OOP paint - Citadel's Jungle Green, which could be found in the ancient 'Epic Paint Set'. It's a little lighter than 'Dark Angels Green'. No idea how it relates to the new stuff. Now I've returned to finish the army, and should have enough of the paint left to do it. But to put my mind at ease, does any one remember the paint and know if there's anything out there that matches? Coat d'Arms have a colour called Jungle Green but it's part of their WW2 line so I don't know if it's supposed to be a match or not. |

might be worthwhile asking if anyone has a pot they can send you? I still have 2/3 of a pot of JG but postage from Aus would be nasty ![]() |

If it's from the old old old citadel paint range, coate d'arms (the old manufacturers of the citadel paint range) still make the same paints sold under their own name - black hat miniatures are the UK stockist, I can't vouch for the matte colours but the metallic paints are pretty much exactly as I remember them right down to the gloopy and lumpy consistency of the 'tin bitz' equivalent (and its smell) coat d'arms paint range on black hat minis |

The ancient "Epic Paint Set", as I learned to my misfortune when I ran out of Imperial Strike Green a while back, pre-dates the Citadel range done by Coat d'Arms. I'm afraid your best bet is ebay and a lot of prayer. (It worked for my Strike Green, so it's not beyond hope.) -Allen McCarley |

It was suggested on Dakka Dakka, and a comparison shot of a marine painted with that vs Dark Angels Green makes it look like it's the right ballpark. |

This is a bit vague, for which I apologise. When the 2nd edition Epic Armies of the Imperium supplement was released, there wa a painting article in White Dwarf - somewhere around the 140s - that listed all those various Imperial tank armour colour schemes. Since this predated the Epic paint set, it also gave the recipes for mixing the colours using the existing Citadel colours at the time. Granted, not all those colours transferred over to the Coat d'Arms-produced range in the 90s without changing slightly, but it might be worth a try. Page 53 of WD 145 has a Predator painted in "Codex Jungle Green. This is a mix of Woodland Green and Chaos Black and is highlighted with Goblin Green." To be honest, it looks not a million miles from Dark Angels Green or the current Citadel Base Caliban Green. edit: you'ce compared it with Dark Angels Green, I see. Sorry, I missed that. |
