Specifically converting these crappy things

Or better put, looking like a Tru-Scale version so like this->

Normally I'd just be all "damn the torpedoes full speed ahead!!!" [waves saw in the air and acts like a scurvy dog] but with the range going OOP in short order I am a little hesitant to just chop into these on my own without asking if anyone else has done the same first. A little prudence might be in order, that's all I am saying. :D

Tangentially related:
Didn't the Land Speeder pack originally come with the Missile Pods for making these Land Speeder Typhoons???

Actually bought packs from GW in my panic orders and only MultiMelta and Assault Cannons included. Perhaps I was mistaken, perhaps the line changed, perhaps my memory in my old age has failed me and I am thinking I saw these in the original EA book but they were just forum creations.

Nope, they are supposed to come with missile pods. My pack came with a couple, at least, but not enough multi meltas or bases for everyone :P

Lame. Sooooo I basically got screwed over by GW. AWESOME way to go out with my last order. [sigh]

If I wasn't quite as honorable as I am I'd be tempted to tell them they didn't come in my order and get a refund. Meh...
I bet you could stick some plasticard bits on them to get some weapons on those. Man that sucks though.

I've been thinking about converting a set of LS Storms too. I'm very surprised not to have seen anyone else do so (that I can recall).

I plan cutting in two and filling with a lot of appropriately sized and shaped plasticard pieces, including the rails and foot plates. It has a 3rd rear engine exhaust fan so need to press-mould one. The existing drivers will be cut out and given Scout bodies.

I need to buy a LS pack from GW to convert Storms (they're still in stock in Oz, like nearly everything else SG down here, just 80% more expensive than in the UK) so should have a spare set of Typhoon missiles I could give you for free (the pack should contain one set, enclosed oop forum LS make good alternative counts as Typhoons too).

I'll also have multi-meltas and bases (I'll make my own clear plastic ones) I will give away if you cover the posyage Settra? How many of each do you need?

What the hell is that final land-speeder? Can it even stay up on it's own?

Mok,

This one=>

That's a LS Storm but with the cabin extended so it'd actually fit the squad in the back. Such things appear to be common with the players in the biggerized form (see CHS StormRaven True Scale Kit for more examples )

I'm late joining in here... I got a pack in my panic buys too, just checked and mine DOES include a pair of rocket launchers to turn one into a Typhoon.

Odd...

All the EA Land Speeder packs I've bought and those of other gamers I know have all contained,
3 normal Land Speeders, 1 Tornado and 1 Typhoon in each pack. The chassis for each has slightly different holes/grooves for positioning of the weapons.

If you wanted a pure Typhoon or Tornado formation you had to buy 5 packs.

Well GW isn't exactly known for their quality control so not odd in my expediences with them over 20 years now.

I've run into the same thing, they sent me a pack that had the Typhoon/Tornado parts when I didn't get them.

Other well know packing mishaps are the Eldar SH backwings, SM Preds with Blood Angel icons on the glaces plate, FW Warhounds without the bent leg...

Thanks, that Conversion Kit certainly goes a long way!
