Hi Guys, Does anyone use wet palettes and if yes, where is the best place to get them from? (UK based) Also, is there anything I can add to my paint that stops it drying so quickly (this becomes a problem when I am layering) - I understand GW do something? Many thanks for any help. Bob |

Add retarder to slow the drying. You can make the wet palette easy. Here is one helpful link http://www.fullborerminiatures.com/arti ... lette.html |

Since you're in the UK, this should make sense:- A wet pallet will cout you around £8 for a good one. Thats the price of a great Crispy Chilli beef around here at least. Eat the Chilli Beef (or chinese dish of your choice... its a necerssary evil... hard life) and clean the plastic dish and lid. Layer in a little blister foam, or half a dozen layers of J cloth. Wet the foam /cloth layer. It will take practice and trials to find the right dampness depending on the paint and foam you're using. Cut a piece of greaseproof paper to the size of your pot, and lay that on top of the wet foam / cloth. Good to go. If you're leaving your pallet for a little while, wet the foam a little more and put the lid on the pot. It'll keep for up to about 3 days like that! I've got a P3 wet pallet I bought off ebay too. Cost me £7 delivered, but I flip between that and my homebrew one depending on what comes to hand easily - there's no great difference eccept I ate Chinese to make one of them ![]() |

I made my own wet palette out of a tupperware container, a household sponge, and sheets of parchment paper. I couldn't find a decently-priced one locally and didn't want to blow a lot of cash on something that I wasn't sure would be my thing. Once you use one you will never go back!
