I'm wondering how well these would work for Valkyries, but I don't have any of either to make a size comparison. ?Has anyone seen these in the flesh, so to speak? ?How would they do as proxies? ?At $4 each versus the soon-to-be $10 each for Valkyries, they're a pretty decent deal.

Thanks,
jav98

Ohh, nice - one for Honda and his drop troops!

Am actually a fairly large fan of these and have quite a few of the CAV aircraft...

While CAV itself is a 10mm game the aircraft are somewhat undersized for 10mm appearing to come in at closer 10 "true 6mm" in terms of scale of the aircraft's cockpit.

Unfortunately I don't have a digital camera but size wise the Fenri itself is approximately:

Nose to tail: 4cm long
Wingspan: 4.5cm
Height: 1cm

The Longbow Gunship is a similar size as well as is the  Mark IV Ghast (one of my favourites):

Hope that helps.

I have a full company of the KDM Fenri gunships...

To use as Valkyrie proxies.

And a bunch of Silent Death fighters that I've converted to be gunship escorts.

And the drop troops themselves are GZG troopers.

It's still very much a project in progress.

And I made a suggestion to use the CAV Fenris as a Valkyrie proxy as far back as two years or so ago when the model first came out...  :D

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Well, great minds and all that!

Thanks for everyone's feedback -- those measurements are a nice touch, Heresiarch! ?

*** Maksim, do you happen to have any pics of your drop company? ***

Thanks,
jav98.

I get touched upon to take photos really regularly here and I probably am well on my way to mastering the use of my digital camera, but I don't have photos of that particular project yet...

I'll put it on the LONG list of projects and miniatures from my collections that I need to photograph, mon ami!

In the mean time, here are two links for you:

My blog:

And my Photo Bucket albums:

There are lots of photos in my Photo Bucket to look through including a very generous cross ection of my VERY LARGE PAINTED Epic Eldar forces.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Yep I think many people made that comment back then. If I remember right we all agreed at that time they would work.

That's weird... I don't recall putting those triple-asterisks around my question...

You didn't, Maksim did. He has the habit of editing people?s posts to add the asterisks around questions.

If it does not bug you, cool. If it does, just ask him to stop and he will.

Gaunts Ghost and I were looking at these as well. What I will say is all of the CAV aircraft are due to be resized with the release of the second edition on 1st August. Therefore, if you like these as they are now, pick them up quick before they grow. Also, the bases are 1.5" across, so that should give some idea of scale.

Doesn't bug me -- I was just worried that my senility was creeping in ahead of schedule!  And he can earn his forgiveness through the suitable application of pictures to web!

And Dafrca has it right as usual... although not like Jimbo!

Yes, I remember the first time it happened to me, I wondered how CS programed the forum to do it.

Oh and I think more pictures is ALWAYS a great idea.
