I'm after some advice !
I want to base my rhinos and I want to base them on something that's that same thickness as my oblong standard epic infantry stands.
I looked at using the standard infantry square stands but you don't really see any of the base,I don't want to see a lot of base, just a bit but a bit more than the standard square one g
Lets you see.
Also I will want to do my land raiders etc.... Any ideas where I can pick some up,thanks gents

I've got my Rhino chassis on 20x30mm. Land Raiders on 30x40mm.

I recently got some 2mm MDF laser cut bases, from minibitz.net or something like that. There are lots of suppliers and most do lots of sizes, or even custom sizes. The GW plastic strip bases are about 1.7 mm I think. The square bases are thinner, as are warmaster bases.

A good idea which I haven't used yet but plan to (borrowed from Apoc) is to replace the GW strip bases with holes for infantry by buying thin 12 x 40 mm strips, drilling holes in half of them, then gluing each drilled strip to an undrilled one. I think he used 0.75mm strips (so overall base depth of 1.5mm) and the infantry sit flush. If you can find a supplier you could get pretty much whatever thickness and shape you wanted for your whole army this way.

I don't buy them as pre cut strips – just get a big sheet of 1mm high impact styrene and cut/snap by hand. Buy it cheap from a vacuum form moulding materials supplier, 'model maker' styrene sheet is a rip off imo. then just score out a 12*40mm (or whatever) grid with a scalpel and snap the strips out – very fast to do with the snapping.

Read through the thread and missed one very good alternative. Fenris games. Said it before, will say it again. Brilliant quality and service. Had some 20x30mm done for the land transporters of my LatD cultists. The are there for all to buy now.

I agree with 20x30mm for Rhinos/Leman Russ etc!
Will use exactly that for my own :)

Can't speak for the modern Land Raiders but the Heresy aera version do fit on the same as well, but might like something a bit more like 25x30.

a good address for bases in the UK is fenrisgames.com!
More or less exactly the thickness of the standard GW strip base ;)
