Hi all,

Was browsing shapeways and came across this seller, who sells a Thunderha... Wait, I mean a Skyhawk:
http://www.shapeways.com/model/629711/15mm-legionary-skyhawk-transporter-x1.html?li=productBox-search

Also sells a bunch of stuff that could proxy for 15mm scale Heresy marines. Odd scale.

I wouldn't advise buying anything in "WSF" material. Horrible grainy stuff, your plane will look like it's made of sand.

Yeah no clue why they took FUD from the materials. You have to go out of your way to remove options.

At a guess it's because noone'd order it. It'd be a £100 model.

It isn't an "odd" scale. 15mm sci fi is huge at the moment.

I've ordered many items in WSF - for 1800 scale naval minis.
The trick is to coat them a 2 maybe 3 times, via a small brush, in an acrylic varnish.
After this the material is smooth and easy to paint on. You don't lose that much detail at all. If the sculptor knows this (many do, can't vouch for this guy) then the level of detail put into the model is enough that a couple thin coats of varnish will still leave enough detail for the model to look good.

As long as you're aware of that - WSF is great and a much cheaper alternative. As well as more durable.
