The problem with Hormagaunts are that they stand as tall as a Tyranid warrior... ?so I decided to do a conversion.
I cut off the top claw and filed the shoulders from the head. That actually looked nice as it is... but a Tyranid has six limbs.
There wasn't any room to add small limbs between the down facing claws and the legs. Well you can, but it just doesnt look good.
So I cut off the down facing claws too, added the small arm limbs to the shoulders i had left using green stuff.
I then split the claws in two and added it to the neck where the upward facing claw shoulders were.
A lot of hassle, but it looks good and they are now shorter than my Tyranid Warriors... only problem is I've got 20 Hormagaunt with their upper claws cut... and 20+ more on the sprue.
A lot of work.
