So I'm broke. And cheap, as well. I can't afford GW's prices for most things, but I *can* afford to pick up plastic Rhinos by the handfull off of eBay or from Chaosorc, for not much money. So to bolster my Space Marines, I've just kitbashed four Vindicators using plastic card and rigid tubing, and now I'm planning on doing up some Predators and Razorbacks. But what to use for turrets and sponsons? Any ideas? I have loads of plastic card, but if there's some way to avoid using a scalpel and jeweler's eyeglass to carve out itty-bitty bolters and whatnot, I'd prefer that! Thanks, jav98 |

A friend used some left over turrests from the Imperial BFG plastic ships. Another friend had a tn. Drill a small hole and glue the turret on and BAM, you have Razorbacks. dafrca |

Actually, I just realized that I have a box of these at home: ![]() I'll have to see if those turrets fit the Rhinos or not. Now I just need to brainstorm what to use for sponsons. |

Yep, those turrets will fit perfectly! We'll call them Javelin-pattern Predators. For the sponsons, I was thinking of using these: ![]() I just have to find sixteen of them to be able to make up 8 Predators. |

Top idea, wonder if Lego still does a bits service? ![]() |

Yes, but not for those pieces. I just found a place where I can get them for four cents each, though: http://home.att.net/~baylit/ Tonight I'm going to borrow a couple of those from my kids' Lego bucket and see how they look on the side of a Rhino. Then I'll see if I want to order more and make a go of it. |

Size and shape wise they certainly won't be much bigger than those on the original mk1 Predator. I think they should work great. |

I am always in awe at the creative use of non-wargame items to get usable wargame figures. ![]() Great Job! Hope the size works out. dafrca |

Hi, I had a go at some conversions a while back using the close combat weapons sprue. Cost not inc rhinos will be $36 US With that you have 4 preds w/sponsons, 4 w/o, and 8 razorbacks. |

That is a great way to beef up that old handful of plastic Rhinos and do so with a budget in mind. Well Done! dafrca |

Which close combat sprue would this be, then? I don't order from GW much, so I'm not familiar with their bits service or anything. Thanks, jav98 |
