I've just been digging through photos of 6mm titans here and elsewhere online, and I haven't come across a single image of the Warhound that GW sells on their website (the one released with E:A). It certainly looks ugly on the website, but it's a poor shot. I've always wondered if it looked better from other angles. Actually, I wonder what it looks like, period. I can't tell. It can't be as bad as the old dog-head version, can it?

Any other images of one? Did GW sell even a single one?

the old dog-head version is quite well-loved round these parts in my experience.... I certainly like it

I think warmaster nice has one of the latest SG style ones in his painting log, there are also pics here at the epic lounge

hope this is of use, with a decent paintjob it's a passable model, I've seen a couple in the flesh and they weren't terrible, just not as good as any of the other warhound models.....

I had a couple of the current Gw metal hound a few years ago. Ended up giving them away I think. Poor model.

Even the old metal warhound is way better than the current GW one. Would never buy it.

Especially not when Forge World (used to?) sell superior Warhounds for half the price.

Damn, I actually REALLY like those. A nice mix of wolfiness and battle machine.

I think I'll have to order one sometime. Or trawl ebay auctions.

I don’t think you’ll find any on eBay – no one bought them in the first place!

But I kind of agree, it looks a million times better in the epic lounge photos than on GW’s website. Thanks, Simulated Knave *edit - I mean kyussinchains*, for posting them (and Warmaster for painting it). I wouldn’t say I love it – some of the detailing looks like it doesn’t belong on a machine that large, and the head looks too pinched for a cockpit. But overall it looks like a modernized version of the original. Pity about the price. Even if GW changed the photo, that would prevent it from selling to the six or seven people still buying new epic-scale titans.

All credit should go to kyussinchains, actually. :)

I'm totally putting them on my list of things I want. And if I get a house when I move, I might just buy one...

Thanks for the kind words. The GW Warhound definitely is a sub-par model, but with some modifications it can be made to look decent. Please note that my warhounds were modified with some Space Marine shoulder pads, with green stuff moulded ornament from the Reaver, and some cable tie to represent reactor vents, repositioned guns and a few other minor changes. I would also shave off some of the tonnes of purity seals to give a better sense of scale, but the modifications were added post-painting, and I didn't feel like repainting the entire model.

To get it out there - I have some wolf head ones I'd be willing to trade for one or two of these... :)

I bought one on ebay last week! :D I'd never pay what GW are charging for it and I only bought it because I don't own one. Having built mine up it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. It's certainly not the best model out there but nowhere near as bad as the GW website photo makes it out to be. As others have said, the detail looks wrong for the scale of the model and it's head is much too small, it's smaller than GW Epic Knight models FFS.

I have one in my Legio ignatum force ( http://hobbybrush.com/scifi/6mmepic/firewasps/ ) , but that's only because I wanted to paint a battle brother for the one I did for the studio ( http://hobbybrush.com/scifi/6mmepic/eastudio/ ).

Its a horrible model in my humble opinion. I remember I absolutely slated it on epic40K.com when the first pictures came out, then 3 days later a resin master arrived for me to paint the studio piece - I nearly refused the job!
