Post subject: | thunderhawks and BFG ships |
Hey all, I was looking at the EA thunderhawk and the BFG space marine strike cruiser and various escorts on the gw page. Now i noticed that a strike cruiser was cheaper than a thunderhawk, and noticed on a picture on this forum somewhere that they are not that different in size. Now as i want a few thunderhawks, but don't mind using other types of vessels, i was wondering if anyone had a picture showing the comparison of a EA thunderhawk (not the forgeworld one) And nova and gladius class space marine escorts. (or maybe the hunter class destroyer) If they are about the same size, it would be silly to spend 80 €on 4 thunderhawks if i can pay Less for four escorts :p. Also appreciated would be a comparison between an imperial cruiser, dauntless class cruisers and cobra destroyers. Thx in advance, just keeping the options open :p EDIT: And if someone has it, is it possible to make a pic of the 10MM dropzone commander ships too? I'm mainly interested in the raven type A dropship. |

I cannot give you pics, at least not for a week, but can assure you about the relative sizes. The BFG strike cruiser is a fair bit smaller, and less hefty, than the GW Thunderhawk. It is shorter, skinnier and about half the volume. The excorts are even smaller, about a third the size of the Thunderhawk. |

If anything it's probably about the size of the early SM1 'flying brick' Thunderhawk model - which is about half the size, if that, of the EA Thunderhawk. Tee |

Well thats a bummer ![]() But if i put it on a flight stand about 20 inches high, it looks like flying in the distance maybe :p Guess i'll be bying a regular thunderhawk then lol. Thx for the input! |

Here's a comparison shot of a SM Strike Cruiser, Thunderbrick, SM Gladius, and IN Sword. All are fairly representative sizewise of their classes of ship. Sorry for the blurry shot as it was taken on the phone but should be good for sizing as no one is caring about my paint jobs in this thread (or lack therefore yet on the Strike Cruiser). Oh and BTW to make you feel guilty I circled the stabalizer that broke off when getting this guy out of the display case to take your shot. Now an entire detachment of marines are falling out of the sky cursing your name! ![]() Attachment:

Thx!!!!! Well the stabiliser was probably sabotaged by a vindicare assassin, after she found out the marines were about to be tainted by the ruinous powers. :p |
