Got some quick painting time in while wife and child were asleep. Managed to get some basecoating out the way. Beginning to hate painting tyres and tracks already...!

Looking good indeed! Did it take you long to get to where they're at right now?

Not too long. To get the above it's only:-

Spray silver
Bosh Badab black everywhere
Basecoat Iyanden Darksun on yellow areas
Tyres and tracks painted black.
Details/clothes picked out in brown.

Since then they've had a liberal wash in Ogryn flesh and now look like this:-

Got some more highlighting done tonight, but still not finished yet.

These things are neither quick nor simple!!

These guys still need a final bit of detailing done but are now otherwise ready for use.
The other bonus is that they gave me a welcome distraction from the skorchas....!

Yea - that was one of the things that looked too much like a 'mass of metal' which I wanted to change.

I'll try and trial one tonight and post it up.

In other news, the wife isn't at all annoyed I've been leaving my 'paintstation' set up on the dining room table all week... :D

Ok, managed to spend some time on these last night.
Flames still don't look great, but I'm a bit happier with them.
Used a black baseline on the skorchas and wartrakks, and painted black 'triangles' on the buggy fronts to give me a better starting point for each flame.

Pics aren't great a they we taken on my mobile in the halflight this morning, but hopefully you get the idea...

Edit. Just noticed I need to improve the nozzle ends, the yellow doesn't look 'finished'

Cheers Nitpick. I did some work on these last night, using Tin Bitz on some areas. Didn't get a chance to take any photos this morning though.

I'm not sure any difference will show in the photos though, as the whole model is still pretty dark. I'm thinking that reversing the scheme might help though eg. Tin Bitz basecoat with silver to picked out the areas I want to look different.

Worth a try, at least. Lord knows I've got enough of the buggers to paint up!!!
