First of all, greetings to everyone as this is my first post on this forum ;) . I have been lurking here for some time reading about the rules and generally trying to grasp how to get started. So big thanks for all the people who are working on making it easier for newbies compiling all those books like army compendium or tournament pack or just answering questions about the rules. I don't have anyone in my surroundings who could just show me how to play trough demo game so it sure helps. It would be hard to play just by myself of course so I've also managed to convince one of my friends to start collecting epic and our choices went for smurf and necrons. There was some problem at first with finding proper models for necros but fortunately there is this great topic about proxies :D which solved our problem. As to my marines i have been slowly buying some land raiders and rhinos off ebay cheaply for the past few months, and few days ago i ordered infantry from GW site. So its time to start painting this army and to get motivation i decided to create a topic for showing the progress :) Although completing the project probably will take a while as i don't have as much spare time as i would like to have. But who knows? Maybe in the future i will be able to post some battle report after our first battle ;)
Anyway here are the first photos showing all the vehicles(due to the lighting the colors are bit wierd but believe me the blue is ultramarine)

Rhions. Some of them where painted when i bought them but as you can see on the ones on left, after restoration they look quite ok.

So here it is for now. In the coming weeks there should arrive some tacticals, devastators, also assault marines, scout and termies. And to move all this things across the battlefield I've got myself a thunderhawk ;D .
Cheers!

I love your bright blue, they should look great on the table top.

What paints did you use btw?

I love the look of your models! How did you do it?

Also where are you from if I might ask (players in your area and such...)? :)

Hey, thx for the comments!
I used vallejo ultramarine blue as a base then washed it with gw asrurmen blue for the shadows and then put two layers of highlight. For metalics i just used boltgun metal and this was highlighted with chainmail.

mspaetauf: Im form Poland and although warhammer is popular here i've never meet anyone who played or known about epic, which is a shame because as far as i seen its really great game. It has everything that the normal warhammer is missing, mainly balanced rules and armies. At least it looks like to me because i didn't played a single game as for today ;D

Nicely hightlighted on the vehicles. If I might suggest adding a spot of red to the land raiders to help break up the blue and draw attention to the lascannons on the sides I think it'll make the overall model much better.

Hey folks! Again, thx for all the comments.
Vaaish: thank you for great advice. Didn't noticed this earlier but after you pointed it out it really looks like it would benefit from the small amount of red here and there.

Marines arrived today!

Great work - the contrast on the washes and sharp edge highlights are impressive. Looks like you have a very good lighting/photo rig (?) Looking forward to seeing more.

After much deliberation ;) i decided to throw myself at single basic tactical stand to get accustomed with paintings humans at this scale.

I chosen to build my force around 3rd company, hence the red color on the edges of the shoulder pads.
