It seems to be the buzz thing to have a diary on these boards. Well in the spirit of everything here is my Feral Ork Diary. Dear Diary Today I woke up with a small child kicking me in the head, it was 6.00am, so nothing new there then! I had a really nice day, but the weather was a bit poor and I hope that it is sunny soon. For lunch I had a really scrumptious meatball pannini from Costas. That evening with the little one in bed (and the wife out with friends) I got my paints out.... I presume you would rather see the pictures than listen to my drivel! Unlike everyone else my diary starts of with models and painting tips... I will get the forces and army list sorted out later... The main thrust of the forces will be Junkatrukks based on the Epic Armageddon Ork Battlewagons and Flakwagons with lots of Squiggoths, Boars and then some... The trukks have been cleaned up and undercoated. For a Steam Gargant, well I may convert one, but I am in the main going to have a live Gargant (which I know I have talked about for ages, and here it is) ![]() I also intend to have a Heavy Ork Bomber made out of a WHFB Terradon. Till next time... |

I'll be watching this with interest. I've got enough models to make a range of ghazgkhull mag uruk thraka's war horde armies and, with some converting, a range of Speed Freek armies too. So the next thing may for me may well be Feral Orks. |

Hi! A live Gargant! Pretty slick! Is that model sculpted by yourself? Or what manufacturer makes it? I sometimes thoughts of a similar concept for exodites. It would be fun to see two epic scale monsters go at it during a battle. Primarch |

West End Games (Grenadier to be more precise) Star Wars 25mm scale Rancor. It is approx 60mm across and therefore fits snugly on a Epic Titan 60mm base. I believe it is now OOP. |

Junkatrukks I do actually like the new Ork Battlewagons therefore I am going to use them as Junkatrukks. ![]() The bigger model seems very Gorkamorka to me and fits in well with my image of Feral Orks. |

Hi! The metal ones look nice, although I rather prefer the FW ones since they come in a nice selection of weapons. Primarch |

I thought that rather looked like the rancor model, never got into that myself (SW minis) but remember from my SW roleplaying days. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't West End Games out of buisness? And, that means, I can't get any of those cool models, doesn't it? my 2cents, iblisdrax |

The problem that I have with the bigger models is that junkatrukks are only supposed to hold one stand and those bigger ones should definitely hold 2 or more. I would like to see Jervis go back to the older, 2-unit transport, but i think he's locked into the 1-unit trukk/junkatrukk parallel. |

You're right Neal, they are slightly on the big side... I think there may be a justification for a new unit, a Heavy Junkatrukk with the ability to carry two or three stands. Very likely this would not get into any official list, but it certainly is a credible unit for non-tournament games. They have been undercoated white and now await their first coat of paint. |

The trukks are now undercoated white. ![]() They are very nice models with a lot of detail. However the one piece "former flakwagon" model is not as detailed as the original three piece flakwagon, I will do a comparative photo. I have started on the metallic areas and tyres which are done with black. More soon... |

Of course one of the advantages of the feral ork army is that you can use units from other ork armies (or in my case my old Epic40K Ork Army). These are the first of the Squiggoths that will form the mainstay of my feral ork army. ![]() I did try them out in a game of EA using the rules in the feral ork list and they did quite well, and I much prefer the EA rules for Squiggoths then the E40K rules for them. |

Very nice, Jimbo! ? Did you get one each of the three new versions in the pack? ![]() And I have my SM-2 S/goths in one of my Snakebitz Warbands and the E-40K S/goths are still on my workbench, dry brushed but still very much under-construction(!), will got to the other. ? Looks like I'll have to make a 3rd Snakebite Warband with the E-A F/Ork models! ![]() |

Jimbo, GREAT WORK! I'm very excited about the Orks as well. In the beginning of playtesting, they were better than ever and had many choices that were never possible before. Some of those many choices have been pared down, but I still think that the E-A Orks are the most competitive ones EVER for the Epic game! I built my first E-A Ork army to be yellow and black Bad Moonz although I have ideas to make some Feralz as well. I'm particularly excited about building Steam Gargantz! Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. |
