Sorry for making you spend money with GW Nitpick, will be interested to see what you come up with.

Kitbashing is probably the way to go if you need more than one. My hulk took the best part of two weeks of model time to sculpt and paint, not the best use of limited hobby time, still it came out good.

Trying to find a "best" use of hobbytime defies its purpose IMHO. I'm just a formation kind of guy but I would lurv to be able to work with your amount of detail without getting bored by what my silly brain keeps viewing as lack of progress. But your work is inspiring.

Project Spike WIP

This is based loosely on a description of a huge chaos war engine shaped like a pyramid from the Ghosts novel necropolis.

Even in EPIC scale it would be huge so i decided to do a "son of spike/spike junior" instead.

It begins :)

The plasma weapons will be plastic imperator arms, the rest will be decided as i go along.

Small commissar lead assault team optional :)

Yes it had lots of tracks. This model is a lot smaller so it will be getting four double track sections from a very old space shuttle on transporter model kit that has been buried in the loft for years.

And here they are track units ready for painting.

Broke the tracks off the original model and made an H frame to stick them to.
Then i made the main mounts from GW square bases, these will line up with more bases stuck to the bottom of the hull.
