So that the Ultra DeathStrike Configuration? ![]() Actually she's a good save and glad to see an old beetleback get some much needed love. Pick out a few details and give her a REALLLLY good hit of DulCoat and those lines will not be as dramatic. |

Yeah, you are right. Which details would you pick out? I'm trying to avoid the overly busy heraldic look of the original GW paint jobs, keeping it military. However the result so far is... boring. I don't want to put paint to my forge world titans until I have the scheme down. |

yeah beetle backs are hard (unless you want to sink tons of time into them doing a fine blending job which probably accounts for why I don't use them-Lucius are just so much easier that way ![]() 1. Paint the skull on the Aquila a different color (perhaps something as easy as well... skull white) 2. Pick out eagle wings with extreme edge highlights in silver 3. IIRC, the beetlebacks had rivets on the carapace edging. Pick those out in gold. 4. Pick out a color across the color chart to accent some of the weapons with (especially the megashitstorm bolter) 5. Spray DulCoat, dry, and then follow up with the brushed on version as a second go which will cause the wash to appear more subdued. +D |

i think maybe half the rocket launcher would have looked better. still, it at least explains reloading - perhaps he's on a deep territory push? |

Matus wrote: This stuff? http://www.firestormgames.co.uk/3302 Yeah that stuff is expensive as hell but cool as crap. they sell it in spray on form and in liquid bottle (i use both). The spray is good for a light protective coat for acrylics and the latter goes on for touch ups (say if yu go back and pick out more detail on a finished model) or for really good solid final seal. It's going to make your stuff FLAT FLAT FLAT though that your other stuff might appear semi-gloss in comparison ![]() Warning: it's strong enough that just opening a window might not be enough to not get you squiffy In addition, I've not tried it but I've heard nothing but good things about ArmyPainter AntiShine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHVmMVb0HTY |

Hey Matus I like what you have done with the old beetleback. I am in Tring. Whereabouts in Herts are you? It would be good to grab a game sometime. |

Wip. Suggestions? (I know the base rim needs rubbing down and repainted, I was daft and flocked while the rim was wet).

Thanks. I'm really starting to like bright colours on epic miniatures, they seem to work much better than he dour colours I tended to use on my 28mm stuff. I may try and work yellow into the guard themselves. I'm not sure how though. |
