I am going to start on some Eldar vehicles and I am looking for suggestions on basing the vehicles so that they hover. Is brass rod in the base and the vehicle the simplest way to do this? |

Brass or plastic rod. My Vanaheim use a 25mm round GF9 base and .100" plastic rod: ![]() My Eldar don't already have a hole for a flying stand, so I'm using 1/32" brass rod and 3/32" brass tube on a 25mm round GW base for the falcons and 5/32" tube for the Engines of Vaul (which were already drilled out for the previous incarnation of the army). ![]() |

There's also clear acrylic rod out there, I have some in 1/16" and 1/8" diameters. It'll be more of a paint to paint the models (have to mask it and it might snap, or you can paint on a paper clip or something) but it'll be that much closer to invisible. |

I might find brass rod easier than acrylic rod. I also like the idea of making the stands detachable. Easier to paint and easier to store. Might give that a try |
