Hi Folks,
I'm casting the net. I'm building a Tau army for Epic, however I'm loathe to use the 6mm troop minis from Forgeworld. No doubt, they are gorgious, but at 12 pounds per 25 they are definitely out of a comfortable price range.
More importantly, however, resin 6mm troops will break quite easily and I'd hate to spend 120$ canadian to get my troops up and running only to find they snap off at the ankles when I go to my first tournament.
Anyone know of possible alternatives to use as fire-warriors and pathfinders? I'm willing to go outside of the GW range if they are a reasonable faximile.

GZG might be worth a closer look. I don't own any of those myself but I think they might have some futuristic stuff which might work
Cheers!

Alternative Armies marines are the right kind of feel, but they are pretty much 10mm (although they are listed as 6mm).

Some 10mm powesuited infantry might work well for crisis suits. The FW figs are about that size.

thanks for your input guys... I'm looking into the GZG range, there are some that look like they may be quite good, I'll let you all know when I get them in.

I can't say much, but I think I'll survive if I just say that there may well be some coming from a new 6mm sci-fi range in a few months time.
I'm 100% sure EpiComms will be one of the first places to hear about them when they are put on release - just kep your eyes peeled! ?

Damn! Is it possible to give us an idea of when we should start looking for this range? I'm eager to get my Tau up and running and I'm receiving the bulk of my list (minus troops) next week.

Hi Guys,
I'm not sure what Tuffskull is talking about, but...
I have been discussing 6mm miniatures with at least two different British manufacturers that plan to come out with new 6mm sci-fi infantry and vehicle lines in the very near future.
We are discussing using my "Planetfall" rules along with their mini lines.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

That's good news. Let's hope they aren't too expensive on this side of the Atlantic.

From what I've seen of this project so far I think they'll be worth it
Cheers!

(There, I can be a tease as well) | hehe - I'm not sure you do mate, But I'm 90% sure I _do_ know what you're referring to! There's more than one project afoot for 6mm sci-fi at the moment & all will be of interest to EpiComms!
Clockwerks - With regards to release dates, I'm not in the driving seat on this one so what I say shouldnt be taken as gospel, but I believe the first bits of the website etc will be online in a few weeks. Certainly would hope to see the first bits up & available by Christmas - I know they've got some decent(ish - trying not to be biased...) painted eye candy ready for the first of the figs at least

Tuff, you really have me curious now! Are these 6mm projects for more than just Tau?

*Giggles frantically*
They won't be Tau since that'd be copyright infrengement. I don't know how much I'm allowed to reveal so let me just echo Tuff and say that there's some very nice things in the works by both companies and that both projects are well on the way.
Cheers!
