Hi all,
Take cover, it's the end of the world. This was unplanned, which is the only reason why it actually happened.
Contrary to all expectations, I have a painted Epic army ;D ;D ;D

And in spite of my many conversions for Orks, Chaos and Eldar, the winner of the improbable prize is the Imperium.
I'm cheating a bit, admittedly. What I have is an unrecognisable and irreconcilable sorry collection of IG, SM, Ad Mech, Knights, Inquisition and Squat models which I am calling an army. They won't fit in any army list from any period, even if I use my Squats as IG troops (my old Squatachan force for a Tale of Epic Gamers many years gone).
But if you can imagine the remnants of an Imperial force marooned by some warpstorm on a planet named Vangilligan's Isle (a.k.a. Malta?) ganging up to face whoever would want to attack them, they're an army.

I'm still getting models out of all sorts of storage places, and I still have large numbers to paint (at least 12 titans, 50 knights, a load of Rough Riders, a couple of dozen tanks and most of my space marines), so it will be an even bigger force in the end. It's not focused, but I'm happy with it that way. Pics will come for those who are patient.

The tally so far includes ten knights (mostly wardens), one Warlord titan, one Inquisition Lander, one Administerum armoured mobile citadel, two converted and one regular superheavies, a dozen or more Squat stands, three hellhounds, five Rhinos, two Ordinati, three or four Vindicators, one Mole, four BattleAxe tanks (detailed explanation provided on demand), 2 Deathstrikes, two Land Wasters, one Thunderbolt launcher, six Termites, one Thunderhawk gunship, one Commissar (with Squats), four armoured trains and one battlecar, two Goliaths and, if I decide they're painted well enough, two Imperators. There are some other odds and ends which I also have to repaint, so they don't count!
There are more which I'm not remembering at the moment, but I'll add to the tally later.
And f I find a small fleur de lys from some Bretonnian model I'll make a SoB model to complete the Imperial set.

Colours:
IG and Squats - mostly variations on blue, grey and brown, with a small number of greens who were supporting the Red Giant Space Marines.
SM - Red Giants (with confusingly green vehicles); Angels of Fire (red and yellow); possibly (none so far, I believe) Polar Warriors (blue and white)
Ad Mech - no specific legion, but generally red or grey, with a yellow Ordinatus
Knights - anything goes!

Huh. When I read the title of this thread, I thought GW had lowered prices.

Awww, thanks guys :)
WI - part of it has. GW lowering prices, me getting an army done, practically the same probability of that happening. Pigs are flying all over the place.

No way Otter.
Not healthy to overwork.

Stingray - they still haven't found out who the leader is. Could even be that old Imperial saint, St Elmo.... ;)
St Julian's just too rowdy for the job.
