Forgive me if this is old news, but I just discovered it. I clicked over to the GD rules for Games Day and noticed the following:
Category 2 - Warhammer 40,000 Squad
This category is for Warhammer 40,000 squads of three (3) or more models. This category is also for Epic detachments and Necromunda gangs. All squads must be legal in game terms.
====
On a related note, does anyone really think it is possible for an Epic formation to be competitive in such an environment?
Does anyone know of any SG minis winning any of the GD categories that weren't dedicated to SG games?

My Epic Logan got top 5 in the 40K Squad competition last year, as well as winning the Fanatic Award (beating demon winners from the large scale & Fantasy regiment categories, among others, which were all worthy of the prize)
I think to actually win a demon it would have to be something totally amazing & rather insane.

I was flicking though my old WDs the other day and saw a GD special (1995?) where it had all the entries for the "Epic Battleforce" category.
If SG was serious, they'd have categories for each of their games...nuff said really

It was a fantastic entry, well painted, well detailed, great conversions, superb base.
It was in my opinion better than some of the winners in that category.
However it did not win, despite its excellence.
Personally I have wavered slightly, I think the only way that Epic will win if there were a large number of Epic entries (ie more than two).
I might enter this year just to prove a point!
