I'm about to finish up my titans and I was wondering; do the majority of the people glue them on or just attache them so they can be changed out?

Personally I don't do the glue thing, the plastic 'brackets' seem quite sufficient to hold any weapons in place however they do get a bit more 'banged up' that way. I guess this stems from ye olde dayes when a hit to a weapon could be easily represented by removing the weapon.

Hi Guys,

I prefer the removeable-type weapons... :)

My friend Chern prefers permanently-mounted ones.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!

There was once an article somewhere on how to use magnets to make the weapons interchangeable.

Its a VERY good solution to this.

None of my titans have weapons glued on permanently. I like being able to change the weapons. I do have favorite waepons, but sometimes I like to try different combinations. I use a putty-like substance to hold the metal weapons  in place. Unfortunately, my Corvus assault pod is too heavy to be held in place  :(  , but all the other wepaons stay in place pretty well.

I agree, Maksim has been playing with small magnets in his force. I have seen others do it with their minis.

If you think you would like to mix and match, then do magnets. If you have a combo you like a lot and do not see yourself changing much, then glue them in place.

I'm a gluer, but that's mainly because of weirdo conversions. :blues:

I'm a gluer as well. I usually try to pose my models a bit dynamically which often means attaching the weapons differently than intended by the sculptor.

Cheers! :)

It depends on the weapons I guess.

My arm mounted weapons normally are glued becuase they are metal. Top mounted ones normally are not.

But then I have so many titans. I haven't found the need to change the weapons  :p

Glue!
Makes the models seem 'whole' if you know what I mean, more of a model in their own right and less of a playing piece.

Yep glue - if you need a different configuration buy a new titan :) ?Aint that right Primarch :;):

Mind you, I have in the past changed bio-titan, phantom and gargant weapon configs... just rip the old gun off carefully, clean up the join and carefully paint the new one good as new... Obviously with this technique I don't change weapon configurations if I can help it!  :D

I believe that is what Maksim is using. I have not tried it myself yet.

Not yet tried on Titan weapons, but strong earth magnets used on BFG ships work very well. You should have a look at K&J site:

http://www.kjmagnetics.com/

The discs D1Y1 or (probably better, especially for metal weapons)  D2Y1 should be good ones for your purpose.

Definately glue. It gives the Titan a personality and narrative through lots of games.
