mostly
I chucked everything in one box and just root around in it until I find the right rod, sheet, texture, bit, etc.

Orky isn't it? I think I'll paint dags, checks and glyphs on my bitz box.

The bukkitwagonz are great! They look like road crew machinery gone bad.
I see gore splatters in their future and flat muhreenz in their wake.

They would make fine Flakkwagonz as well if you were so inclined.

Bukkitwagonz are brilliant. Remind me of german WWII halftracks.

I like the Idea of bukkitwagon AA guns. I've considered cobbling together some Pulsa Rockits for them as well.

These Goffs think they are "Goffier dan da uvver wunz" and refer to thier bukkit wagonz as Goff Karts :) The only part that is red is the gore splattered deth rollas which for some reason go fasta.
I just tried to hint at gore since I don't think splattering would work at this scale. "Less is more" came to mind as well. I still need to paint the drivers.

fantastic all around, you make those old crappy plastics look pretty nice.

The craft store was sold out of the wooden bases I use for Infantry so making Ork stands will have to wait. So I picked up some plastic cement and x-acto blades for whatever came next.

I have been wanting to do Killa Kanz and Deff Dreds for a while but the Idea of scratch building them was daunting. So I cut some pieces to look at and contemplate which led me to cobble together the body of a Deff Dred.

I checked the scale and it looked fine to me.

Added more detail.

Then decided he needed a Killa Kan buddy. :)
Image

A little choppin, gluin and cussin and I have the basic body of a Deff Dred and a Killa Kan.

Arms, Legs and details will have to wait, for now I am going to keep making more basic bodies.

I have to say, I worked on some ork Battlewagons last night, and came away with an even keener appreciation for how hard it is to get the fit you do and still have the model look ramshackle. And the Kans just prove it again. Superb.

Thanks Ghost.
If I tried to use the same methods for anything other than orks my results would uh.... suck :) .
When I mod imperials or the like I use straight edges and a micrometer as well as line up my materials and reference before starting.

With orks I can just hold the plastic against the minis, mark it with a pencil and then start chopping away until it looks right. If I chop too much I just start again. A pile of scrap gets generated but with orks that pile becomes a resource.

Here is Pictures of all the Deff Dred Bodies and Killa Kan Bodies I made today.

This shows the sizes relative to various Imperial Dreadnaughts (keep perspective in mind);

I think the guns/rokkits will be pretty easy and straight forward. Klaws and rippy stuff may be difficult.
Legs will probably be done in a production line manner tommorow.
Looted Dreadnaughts will come later (when I have extras to loot)

I managed to get the gunz figured out. If I add any finishing touches it will be after they get glued to the Kanz. I tried to avoid repetition.
The top row are the larger primary (upper) guns for the Deff Dreds the rest of the smaller gunz will be Deff secondary (lower) or be for Killa Kanz.

Nevermind the things on the right, those are a set of legs that have just been started.
