Welcome to phase two of the Epic Construction Workshop. The rules are: Each four week period focusses on a specific unit in Epic. For that four weeks, anyone can build a miniature to represent that unit in the game, and then post their ideas and instructions. Each thread containing these instructions should have the prefix [ECW], and I (or one of the mods) will then pin the thread. The thread should be left open, to allow others to comment on the construction. At the end of the four weeks, all threads will be unpinned, and I will compile them into an article for www.epic40k.co.uk. After three weeks, a new unit will be selected and the process will be repeated. This means that there will be an overlap of one week where two projects will be active at the same time. You can construct your representation in any way that you like, use and parts from anywhere and scratch build what you want. The main goal of this is to provide ideas. However, do bear in mind that others may want to be inspired by your ideas. To make it easier for them... Try to provide clear instructions and part descriptions (with part codes where possible). Try to keep to miniatures and parts that are as easy to get hold of as possible. Most people are familiar with the GW range, bear that in mind. Try to keep the costs down as much as possible, people are unlikely to purchase a Stompa Mob at ?20 because they need a Supa Stompa left foot. In a perfect world, we would all be able to keep to these, but we all know that it is not a perfect world. If you want to use obscure bits and ancient parts that are no longer available, then go ahead. However, it may be useful to also suggest alternatives for the newer collecters who become inspired by your masterpiece. So, the unit to kick us off is... Hi, Ooh goody! I've had a plan for one of these for a while, so it looks like I'll get it into action. The bits are OOP though, so I'll get it made and see if people can suggest replacement parts. Cheers, Freshmetal |

Well, this phase of the ECW ended with no examples. Not to worry, I guess that you are all working on the next section. |

OK, the Eldar gate is ready at last - sorry I'm late. ![]() The bits are: 40 x 40mm base one plastic gear from an old printer a few tree trunks from the WH40K jungle trees set (a bargain for 3GBP) 2 bits of cat litter... some static grass An easy, ancient-ruin look Eldar wraithgate, overgrown with - er - static grass. I tried an mesoamerican ruined look, with a techno-looking gear as the centrepiece. Not brilliant, but I can use it without feeling overly bad. Well, on good days, perhaps... ![]() |
