well, I am the world's laziest painter, I have lots of hobbies, I'm a perfectionist (which sucks), have children (which doesn't) AND I only get to game every 3mths at best, so my motivation is pretty non-existent. This is where you all come in - heap me with praise, shower me with accolades and generally motivate me. Definitely no sarky comments (I'm looking at you Captpiett and Dave)

So, I figured I'd start with some stuff I've already painted (which shouldn't take long). Behold, The Mighty Butt Crack!

the sad thing is that I took 2mths of evenings to paint him, he only appears once per game and usually does absolutely nothing useful!

Looks nice, though I have to admit I'd have made the skin look a bit cooler and darker. I've always thought the Avatar looks like he could use a spa day: all that cracked, reddened skin.

Typically I agree with you Spectrar Ghost, but I kinda like Matt's style. Makes it look less like the Avatar is made of cooling lava, and more like it's made of pure fire.

I must admit to some awkwardness whenever I'm painting the crotches of miniatures.

thanks Signal. I got the idea from a White Dwarf article on painting the full size thing - they painted it inside outwards. So I started off with a bright yellow base coat and blended it to red out from there, so that it looks like only the outer parts are cooling down to the red end of the spectrum.



I'm 100% fine with painting such a magnificent butt. Not so sure about others, but thankfully this is the only one I'll have to do!

You have great attention to butt crack detail!
