That baneblade is very well done, though I think the sentinels could do with something, a unit marking perhaps?

agreed with everybody before - excellent banblade. captain could be right about unit markings. Transfers is my general solution but I have been meaning to go back to my guard army and add unit stuff.

yes you're right, I plan to metallise the exhausts and perhaps add some colour to them (it's just hard motivating myself to paint models which tend to spend more time in the box dead than on the table.... ;))

gah, I just realised that the arma enclosure plugs into the FW medusa chassis...... now I have to buy a dozen medusas and probably repaint the whole shebang, just so I'm using 'proper' GW miniatures.... damn my perfectionism!

I has been a busy boy......

Despite a nasty bout of jaw and toothache bought on by poor painting posture and clenching my jaw while concentrating, I managed to get most of my steel legion done.....

bombards and sentinels (now with added regimental markings and rusty exhausts!)

artillery and AA battery

blurry army shot.....

Still to do:

1.5 warhounds (I'm developing a hatred for the FW models....)
2 Infantry companies (made from canadians, stormtroopers and GW command group models)
2 deathstrikes (need to purchase bits)
4 valkyries to fly the stormtroopers around (need to buy....)
2 tbolts.....

thanks for looking, C&C always welcome!

Very beautiful models. I think the bases don't do the models justice though. At the very least I would drybrush the ruins in grey and maybe wash/ink the gravel a bit.

I can smell the promethium fumes and burnt fycelline for the glory of the emperor! Well played sir, but I must echo Helge on the bases they don't fit the fantastic models.

yeah I'm not happy with the basing either, needs smaller ballast and some grass, but currently have zero cash to rectify it.... :(
I did paint the blue sentinel squadron's bases before sticking the ballast on, and it looks way less tatty than the black bases

I plan on basing the lot, just trying to find some appropriate bases at the moment

and yes the ruins, I based the infantry in a hurry to be ready for Full Scale Assault back in February, and forgot to paint the ruins (a few stands have been painted but not shown close up)

thanks for all the comments! it's been very helpful keeping me motivated to get it all done

yup, for my money the stormtroopers are the best infantry models available, and the regular infantry are pretty awesome too

I'll get some more pics taken with my real camera soon, I'm toying with rebasing them all first.......
