Is there a good shop that stocks a range of 6mm in London? or has it all gone online ? Doing a garden tour (organised by the boss- wife) that includes York and Bath. This will be followed by the lakes , locks and islands of Scotland tour so Edinburgh is also a possiblity. Any shops that actually stock 6mm sci fi ? or even Dystopian Wars bits and pieces?, 6mm scenery?

Triple Helix Wargames is near Bath (~30mins drive, or 5mins from Westbury station which is on the London-Bath line) they stock Dystopian Wars and can order GW specialist games items if you call ahead.

England is not a great place for wargames stores if you are not looking for GW, I am afraid. There are a few stores, but 6mm is a niche within a niche. For general stores, I like the Orcs Nest which is central London. However a combination of limited popularity of wargaming and high rental prices for London locations means that outside London is usually better.

A better solution would be to find a show or a convention while you are over and visit that.

Well in Edinburgh there's a few hobby shops(none stocking 6mm as far as I know) but if you come here there's loads of things you'll want to see that are more worth your time.

If your visit happens to coincide with a Wednesday and you're free in the evening drop me a PM, I know a great gaming club where we can have a beer/game.

Only gaming shop worth visiting in London (Kingston is not London, soz) is Dark Sphere - http://www.darksphere.co.uk/shop.php?PH ... 33gvdq02k6
It has 6mm scenery, Dystopian Wars and firestorm armada too.

If you are around in London then drop by the Exodus Wars office. I'll even give you a sneak preview of the Behemoths :D.

Thanks everyone for the tips, invitations and suggestions. Tom i will be in London from 29th june until 5th july. I will pm you shortly. I leave OZ on 11 th June. AB garden tour has a free day in Bath on friday 22nd June although the boss will undoubtedly choose the afternoon tea at the Pump Rooms. CS i will be in Edinburgh from 6th July to the 8th of July (friday- sunday) on our way to Inverness to catch the boat. Alas not on a wednesday. Unfortunate falling of dates as apparently Edinburg will be hosting a food festival. Thats all i need -- more food!. Been on Trip Adviser -- Arthurs seat is probably out because the boss wasn't interested. Besides the castle is there a must see that i should sneek on the list?

Arthur seat offers some great views but unless you like feeding Ducks/Swans thats about it really. I'm sure trip advisor has filled you in on all the tourist-y things to do, but I'd recommend doing one of the nightime tours in the old town, they're usually a good laugh. The National Museum is worth a look too if that's your kind of thing.

Haven't been to the food festival myself but it is worth checking out, if the weather's nice, but it'll likely be quite busy. Have fun!

Home again. Thanks to Tom Webb for his hospitality. Saw some of his new releases . It was great to actually see the miniatures in real life. Made some great purchases.
Dark Sphere was also worth a visit.
