I'm looking to eventually build / collect several Epic Armageddon armies, and also put together other 'taster' armies with the express intention of dragging my gaming group along with me ![]() Projects: Travel Space hulk Travel Inquisitor (both intended for 'down the pub play') 1000pt armies (using the minigeddon ruleset expansion) Actual work will be slow, as I can't really afford anything until I move back to the UK (otherwise I pay once, again on the exchange rate, a third time for shipping and a fourth time for the excess baggage) In theory, this will gradually become an index, with each army getting it's own post, list, 2-3 objectives and pics. Some factions or army will get multiple lists, with the aim of then being able to field 3000pts combined. I've mixed and matched between NEA and EU lists since some (like the Minervan Tank regiments) can't actually be fielded under Minigeddon rules. Sisters of Battle - my first army and my first love, possibly extend with traction cathedras IG - Classic Armaggedon Mechanised legion, Ulani tanks, Harkoni/Elysian Drop troops, Chem-dog skirmishers, Baran artillery, Mordian gunline and Cadian Mass infantry with pyskers. in current order of preference. Marines - Codex Air assault, Scars bike assault, Scions of Iron Tanks and Grey knights Skittari - Assualt Skittari - MODELS, Ordinati heavy, Possibly titan legions later, possibly knightworld list. Squats - centred around the theme of the Varngr Project on Warseer, so neo-squats post nids. Chaos marines - classic black legion + defilers Lost and the damned - traitor guard, tzeentech mutants and slaaneshshi knights Tyranids - neo-nids generic stuff, possibly a classic list and biotitan list later Necrons - classic crons generic stuff, possibly a tomb construct list later. Tau - generic mix. possibly an auxiliary list later. Orks - Gazzy generics, Speedfreaks, Stompy/Gargants and mebbe Feral Orks Eldar - generic craftworld, exodites Dark Eldar - generic raiding party. I don't even want to start calculating the potential cost of even 1000pts of each of those ideas. whimper. |

In that 1000pt Necron list, the lone Monolith has a giant bullseye on it. It's the only portal for the whole force. Depending on your playstyle it may be fine but only having one portal can slow Necrons down quite a bit. Destroyers are also a very expensive formation at the 1000pt level (and also a reasonably fragile BTS formation). Looking forward to seeing this thread develop! Cheers mate, Steve. |

well, at 1000pts it's quite hard to have two monoliths and still have enough infantry to actually bother with the portals. I figured the destroyers would make up for te lost speed . Portals are key necron mechanic though. Hmmm. how about this? A'rhrm Ah Giiz, 1000 POINTS Necrons (NetEA Raiders v2.0) ================================================== INFANTRY PHALANX [325] Necron Lord, 6 Warriors, 2 Tomb Spyders MONOLITH MANIPLE [200] Monolith, 2 Obelisk MONOLITH MANIPLE [200] Monolith, 2 Obelisk INFANTRY PHALANX [275] Necron Lord, 6 Warriors, Wraiths Cost. £3.95 edenite infantry pack, and some extra bits for vehicles. I'm concerned the tomb sypders actually make the formation weaker by adding an LV vulnerability, but it showcases different models well. |

Yeah I agree with Onyx. You should probably drop the destroyers at 1000 points, like he says they're way to fragile for a BTS. I would suggest something along these lines Incompertus, 1000 POINTS Necrons (NetEA Raiders v2.0) ================================================== INFANTRY PHALANX [225] Necron Lord, 6 Warriors VENATOR MANIPLE [225] 6 Flayed Ones, Necron Lord INFANTRY PHALANX [225] Necron Lord, 6 Warriors MONOLITH PHALANX [325] 3 Monoliths, Obelisk ______________________________________________________________ this will give you a hard to kill BTS with the living metal rule and two more portals which you will most likely need. You will still only be able to "portal" yourself into one area of the map. So your opponent will quite easily outmaneuver you when the objective grabbing starts. A possible solution to this might be dropping the obelisk and the venator lord for a tomb complex. That way you can retreat back to your blitz/half of the table easily. Edit: Or you could go with the list you so sneakily posted while I was writing my post ![]() |

Biker Marines first draft. (using codex becuase White Scars is too inflexible at this point level) A very light and fast list. Khan Drogo's Calvacade, 1000 POINTS Codex Astartes (NetEA Compendium 1.1) ================================================== BIKE DETACHMENT [250] 5 Bike Unit, Captain BIKE DETACHMENT [200] 5 Bike Unit BIKE DETACHMENT [200] 5 Bike Unit LAND SPEEDERS [200] 5 Landspeeder SCOUT DETACHMENT [150] 4 Scouts |

For Necrons at 1000pts, I've seen this army used to good effect: Quote: C`TAN [300] Deceiver INFANTRY PHALANX [225] Necron Lord, 6 Warriors VENATOR MANIPLE [200] 6 Flayed Ones MONOLITH PHALANX [275] 3 Monoliths You can swap the Monolith Phalanx for a Monolith Maniple (with added Monolith) for extra vehicles on the table but at slightly lower FF/Armour ability. This gives you a tough War Engine as your BTS (which is also a Supreme Commander - win). Necrons always benefit from having a (disrupt) Barrage template attack in the force as this persuades the enemy to space out in their deployment, making formations more vulnerable to teleport attacks. The Flayed Ones and C'tan (if broken/phased out) can teleport themselves back onto the board so that just leaves the Infantry Phalanx to use the portals (it should never end a turn on the board until the end of the game if possible). |

and the companion marine list (version 2): Hammers Of Mcragge, 1000 POINTS Codex Astartes (NetEA Army Compendium v20120208) ================================================== ASSAULT DETACHMENT [225] 4 Assault Units, Librarian DEVASTATOR DETACHMENT [300] 4 Devastators, Dreadnought PREDATORS [300] 4 Annihilator, Vindicator SCOUT DETACHMENT [175] 4 Scouts, Razorback, Rhinos had to rewrite this concept completely as neither drop pods or a thunderhawk were possible. Classic 'bulls horns' 4 formation strategy. I refuse to add a Warhound to an introductory army, but a Warhound, terminators and a tactical detachment will finish off this as a 3000pt army nicely. Heck, add a landraider and that might work as a list in it's own right too! The falling Anvil, 1000 POINTS Codex Astartes (NetEA Compendium 1.1) ================================================== TERMINATOR DETACHMENT [425] 4 Terminators, Land Raider TACTICAL DETACHMENT [300] 6 Tacticals, Rhinos WARHOUND TITAN [275] (technically not allowed as the termies +landraider are over 400pts for one formation) As pointed out elsewhere. |

I should probably model more and play with lists less, but this 1000pt constraint is really quite fun when you get into it: EDITED: to remove aircraft Relief of the Walkure, 1000 POINTS Steel Legion (NetEA Compendium 1.0) ================================================== MECHANISED INFANTRY COMPANY [400] Commander, 12 Infantry, 7 Chimera STORM TROOPER PLATOON [350] 8 Storm Troopers, Valkyrie Transport INFANTRY COMPANY [250] Commander, 12 Infantry |

Pretty sure the minigeddon rules specify no A/C or spaceships? |

Yup, you can. Why would you not be able to take a C'tan at 1000pts? It's under 400pts. Being 0-1 means you can only take 1 per army. There is no minimum points limit to be able to use it (well 900pts would be the technical minimum but that's getting silly). See HERE for the army list. As for the Marine/Guard lists, Mephiston is right, there are no Air units or space ships allowed in the Minigeddon rules. |

C'tan is fine, there's scarier stuff in minigeddon than him. There's no DC limit in minigeddon because usually the 400 point cap and the 1/3 cap combine to exclude all the really unbalancing stuff at 1k points like Reavers for example. One of your lists has a fm at 425 pts (termies+land raider) which is illegal though. If I was playing you I'd let it slide, but not within the 'tournament' minigeddon parameters. And no, no aircraft or spaceships in minigeddon. The former would be too unbalancing as AA would be hard to justify taking at 1k points and it's supposed to be a format about learning the basics, i.e. assaulting, breaking enemy fm, keeping an eye on objectives, etc. |

Drat, time to do some reworkng then. EDIT: new IG list put back in I thought that 0-1 choices were forbidden, but it's actually the 0-1 free upgrades. should have checked more carefully |
