Hi,

picked up WD302 (UK) this morning to find a nice page full of the new Eldar releases. I know that they've been on the online store for ages, but nice big pics are always nice. :D

Shown are:

Epic:Eldar Warhost ?12 - 2 of the old Eldar sprues with guardians, aspects, warbikes, rangers and wraithguard. 38 assorted stands apparently.

Falcons ?8 for 3

War Walkers ?8 for 6

Night Wings ?8 for 6 (!)

Vypers ?8 for 6

Wave Serpents ?5 for 4 (!)

Anti Grav Platforms ?8 for 6 platforms (enough for 6 D-Cannons OR 6 Scatter Lasers apparently).

This is what is printed, but still not sure if there are a few misprints in there, especially the Wave serpents. (?5 for 4! I think not. And 6 Night Wings in a pack?) We shall see.

Not much more mention of Epic, but a few pages of Necromunda are a nice read. Some 40k Eldar stuff, the LOTR Scouring of the Shire stuff and a WFB batrep with Ogre Kingdoms versus Empire fill the rest.

Cheers,
Freshmetal

For me the comment about the next issue, which covers Abhumans in the Imperial Guard, which I guess will cover Ogres and Halflings, but I wonder if they will mention (or cover) Beastmen or Squats!!!

From pics in W/D 301, Only the Wave Serpent and Falcon look "new" ?  The rest looked like E40K "remolds" ...   :;):

Having spoken (by email) to Guy Haley, it is definately not anything to do with homo sapiens rotundus or homo sapiens minimus.

He didn't say yes or no about homo sapiens variatus, though.

Erm. They were ?5 a pop before Jervis dropped the price to ?1.50, and compared to the current cost of marines, there's not that much difference...

The Falcon and Serpent don't look new to me. They look identical and almost identical to the E40k ones I've got. Just looks like they've thickened up the pulse laser and the probe a bit, and maybe added a scatter laser to as secondary weapon.

Hi,

Taken from a post on the SG forums, a guy said he phoned MO and got told:

"5 Falcons = ?10
3 Wave Sepants = ?6"

Sounds a bit more realistic, but I'm still sceptical until I see them released.

Cheers,
Freshmetal

Yes, Pit/F, I thought that too, but since I collect too, I'll buy the "beefed up, upgunned" versions, also.  The pics on the G/W site don't always download for me (!,?)! ???  So I'll have to wait for W/D 302 and you guys to let me know what's old E40K and what's modified ! :;):

Yeah... just my point- they were ?1.50 each last time they were available from GW- so they are now 4x the price, no? ????

And yeah, they do compare with the new SM sprues, but I haven't bought any of the E:A plastics yet, as they are not exactly value in my opinion... :;):

Oh- but I am glad they've kept the sprues as they were rather than recut them to just include Guardians; having all the aspects in metal would have been a very poor decision.
