Hi Dafrca,

I have seen it done with the other Titans as well. One person had done it with the Warhounds. It did not look bad. He did have to try a few different magnets until he found one that was strong enough (or so he told me).

Andy Skinner was the person who got me interested in the idea.

You definitely need rare earth (neodium) magnets to get it to work. Regular ceramic magnets don't have enough power.

The hard part he told me was finding the "extra" weapons so he could field all the various combos he wanted to.

I don't have this problem! :)

I have multiples of most weapons (although not all of the Titan variant pieces).

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Me thinks I hear more trade opportunities.  :;):

Thanks again! I'll have to start experimenting.   Now to get some magnets and steel paper. And after the smoke clears we re-check the connection.

Ok, so I want to start experimenting with magnets (what with the new batch of warlords and all  :) ).

I've seen the K&J website and it looks good. A few questions:

A) are the smallest (1/16 X 1/32) magnets strong enough, or do you need a bigger size for holding weapons/turrets/etc.?

B) I've read previous posts about using magnets with steel paper. Where do you find it / how do you cut it? Preferably a site with international shipping....

C) what is it / how do you build a "polarity wand"? I'm guessing it's some contraption which lets you know the polarity of magnets (duh) so you mount e.g. all north poles on the arm mounts and all souths on the wapons...

Hi Magnus,

The smallest ones work fine for most Epic applications. I use the 1/8" and 1/16" for most applications. Andy Skinner and I tend to use the 1/8" for Titans and most heavier things.

Steel paper cuts with scissors or Xacto knives.

A polarity wand is exactly what you think it is. And it is both helpful and necessary. Nothing stinks worse than having two pieces not fit together. A simple fix is a small steel washer, but I prefer just having the magnet's poles in the right order! :)

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Ehrr.. sorry to be obtuse, but with 1/16 you mean the 1/16 X 1/32, right? And 1/8 = 1/8 X 1/32?

Also, how do you build the polarity wand?  :)

Yes. 1/16 X 1/32 and 1/8 X 1/32.

Build two wands. Make sure they stick together and you have both poles.

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

What would be the best mthod to use for getting magnetic swappable Reaver weapons, Maksim? I'm talking about on the SG Reaver, here, if that helps.

Hi Dysartes,

I would either buy a round ball magnet... maybe a half-sphere OR...

Just mount a smaller magnet or two in the ball by drilling wholes. Ball and socket so to speak...

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.
